13. Rage

When I arrived home the next morning, it was worse than I had expected. My father yelled and raved and ranted, at times I wondered weather he would take a breath. it lasted half an hour before he allowed me to go to my room so that I may get ready for school.

The events fro the day before washed through my mind like fresh waves coating the sand, over and over again I saw three faces, Damien's, Cody's and that of the dead girls.

A shoulder touched my shoulder and I gasped before spinning and taking hold of whoever it was' wrist. They grabbed my forearm and ripped my hand away before pushing me against the wall of the school.

"Little tigress, if I had known you liked it rough, I would have gone about this in a completely different manor." Damien's voice tickled my right ear as his warm breath caressed it, despite his lewd implications I smiled.

Damien eased back just enough to look down at me, my body still pressed between him and the wall.

"You really need to warn a girl you know, I've heard there were vampires around here, feasting on the blood of virgins." I teased him, his answering smile was dazzling. That was something else a girl needed to be warned about.

I didn't want our playfulness to end, but there were things I needed to know. Even if I dreaded knowing them.

"Damien, what did you do with the girl's body?" I asked, the smile leaving my face and a frown replacing it.

"We informed the police of the body, there are vampires there who will make it seem like she died of drug overdose." He explained simply and I nodded, suddenly feeling like I was in a daze.

The rest of the day seemed to pass like that; me walking around like a lost puppy who didn't recognise a thing and Damien constantly at my side. His presence was a comfort, it kept me stable.

It was after school that things started to go down. Damien insisted on taking me home, only we didn't get past the parking lot. There, in front of my car, stood Candace.

"Decided to keep the tramp then, Damien?" She sneered, giving me a once over before deciding I wasn't worth a second glance. Damien took up a defensive stance in front of me which usually I would have argued against, but something told me to keep my mouth shut this time, 'something' being the glare he sent my way.

I took it Candace's appearance, she was undoubtedly beautiful. Straight, blonde hair fell down her back like a golden waterfall, and her eyes, though seemingly dead, were such an alluring colour that the fact they were life less was hardly noticeable. That day she wore a black mini skirt that barley reached mid thigh, and a red boob tube and fuck me high heals. This girl was the walking definition of a street whore.

"It would seem so, wouldn't it?" He returned with and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. If we were making a list of good comebacks, that wasn't going on there.

"Yes, it would. I'm wondering though, if you told your little pet, all about the prophecy." Candace said, turning her attention to me. She seemed to rip into my soul, like she could steal it away with just one look.

Turning my attention back to Damien, I saw his eyes were narrowed and his jaw clenched. Confusion stroked though me, prophecy? What prophecy?

"I'd watch your tongue Candace, before I decide not to let you keep it." He threatened and the blue eyes that I had come accustomed to, turned into red rubies. It was a scary sight, the only time I had seen it before was when we were in the woods. "Oh please, like you would, this tramp is nothing." Candace sneered. In seconds she was pressed against my car, her throat in the clutches of Damien. I gasped but made no move to stop him, in all honesty I found a guilty pleasure in seeing her put in her place, if that made me a bad person, so be it. "The fact that you are one of my kind means nothing to me, I will rip you to shreds, just watch me." Damien growled, then he threw her to the ground. Literally threw her so that she was at least seven feet from my car, I hurried over to Damien and got in. His rage had scared me, major. I wondered what would happen if he were to turn that rage on me.
