There is a way to survive, they will not harm you if you know they are their, It's their only law, their only rule. So if you want to stay alive. Turn around.

10. Bloody Reunion

"Are you insane Damien? You brought a witch back here? The society will have our heads, this is a violation of the treaty!" Angry voices flooded my ears through the darkness, I couldn't find my way. My body felt detached from my mind, like I couldn't control anything. My eyes were sealed and refused to open.

"Hey it's not my fault your sister saw me, Cody! What was I supposed to do?" I knew that voice, at least I thought I did. It sounded so familiar, both of them did.

"Anything Damien, but god dammit our mother took Willow away from here for a reason!" The first voice said, I knew this one too. I still couldn't open my eyes and it was annoying the hell out of me, I couldn't do anything that involved moving my muscles. A soft whimper bled past my lips, so gentle that I wasn't sure I had even done it.

Cold, rough hands lifted me with a gentleness that seemed impossible due to their callused fingers, I was cushioned by what I thought to be someone's lap.

"Hush, Willow. It's okay." The second voice cooed and suddenly I realised why it was so familiar, It was Damien. My first instinct was to jerk away, although that proved to be difficult, my second was to melt in his arms like warmed up butter.

His body warmth could have been air, water or food because I was desperate for it; like a girl drowning in the cold. My ragged breathing slowed rapidly and my muscles returned control to me, almost as though him holding e was some sort of cure.

Then memories of before coated my memory, blood was all I saw and the body a dead girl.

"No!" I screamed, lurching away from the warmth of his skin and back into what seemed like an icy abyss, though it was barley four seven feet away. Blood, blood, blood, oh so much blood. I could feel it coating my fingertips, my arms, clinging to my clothes. I felt sure if I were to look down I'd be drenched in the awful smelling stuff. Yet when I did, all I found was my black hair drifting around my pasty, pale skin, A white dress clung to my curves. It fell willingly to my ankles, twin straps wrapped around my forearms in a hang off way, and the neck line was low enough to show off some cleavage.

Cody and Damien moved at the same time, hands held high in surrender. Back against a wall, I had no where else to run. No means of escape this time Willow. My subconscious reared her spiteful head, laughing at my predicament.

"Willow, calm down, please! We won't hurt you." Damien made sure to keep his voice gentle, like he was scared of scaring me. Too late.

"Why aren't I covered in blood?" I asked, as though he had never spoken. He jerked away in the shock of my question.

"Why would you be?" He asked as if talking to a small child. Why would I be covered in blood? Couldn't he see it? It almost seemed to drip from the walls and drench my sight with red

"It's every where, staining the carpet. It's her blood, all hers!" I yelled, though it was more of screech. Why couldn't he see it? He did this, he killed her, sucked her blood from her lifeless body.

Damien's eyes lightened with understanding and darkened again with guilt and remorse.

"Willow, listen to me. I had no other choice, please just let me explain." Damien pled, holding out his hand to me. I was hesitant, who wouldn't be. Yet something told me I could trust him, I wanted to trust him.

"You killed her." I whispered, red was fading from my vision now and it was all returning to as it should have been. Damien nodded solemnly, almost as if he were ashamed. Maybe it was his honesty that made me take his hand, afterwards I would never know, but I did and he crushed me to his chest before releasing me.

"I guess the first thing we need to get through is our family reunion," Cody said as my eyes turned on him, "Hello baby sister."
