2. Strange

I awoke to the sound of the morning birds. I rolled around for a minuet, half asleep before I got up to do all my chores. I fed the chickens, getting attacked and my father had to shoo them away. We laughed, I continued with feeding the cow also.
Me and my mother gardened for a while. She always wondered how my skin was still so white. I also found that strange. Everyone thought I was sickly but I was just fine. I went to fetch water for father from the well. A boy watched me. He looked a little older than me. I dipped the bucket in the water and then gazed at my odd reflection. I noticed a purple bruise where Gaven had kissed me. A small spot on my cheek. I wondered for a minuet. How did that get there? I run my fingers across the unfamiliar mark.
“Hey Amelia.” I jumped frightened and turned to see Michael with that other boy that had been watching me.
    “Hey Michael.”  I studdered.
“What happened to your face?” He asked casually like it was nothing bad. I glanced at my reflection again before answering.
“I dont know...” My voice trailed off as I remembered Gaven’s sweet kiss. I did not believe it hurt at all.
“What do you mean you dunno'?” Michael laughed. “Can you  not remember?” I shook my head.
“No. I must take this water to my father now. Goodbye Michael.”
“Have a good day Amelia.” He said encouraging. I had no reply. I just glanced back with curiosity at his sweet tone to see the sad smirk on his face, and turned quickly back to run home accidentally spilling a drop of water. Father was waiting on the porch watcing me at the well. He was waiting for a drink.
“Were they rude to you Amelia?” My father asked with a strong tone.
    “No father.” I answered suprised.
“What happened to your cheek?” He looked worried now. “That was not there before I left this morning.” He took the pale from me as I came onto the porch.
“I must have accidentally hit myself with my gardening tool earlier. The boy just greeted me and told me to have a good day.”
“Those boys only cause mischief Amelia, stay away from them.” He commanded.
“Yes father.” I nodded. I could not argue with that. Gaven was the only boy I would spend a minuet of the day with. If my parents knew of Gaven and how we spend time together Im sure I would be punished. Especially if they knew he had kissed my cheek. I looked up at the sky as he was getting a drink. It was almost noon. Still a couple of hours before I  got to go see Gaven. I went in the house to mother for breakfast/lunch. Eggs, and potatoes. I ate quietly. When I was finished I went into my room to get ready to see Gaven. Excited I jumped on my bed and laid there thinking of Gaven for uncountable minuets. Grinning about the kiss and burying my face into my pillow. I daydreamed. Every girl wants a prince. Gaven was definately a prince. A beautiful being, who gave me his very first kiss as a promise.  I would be spanked if my parents knew. Gaven would be found and punished also. I remembered the bruise on my cheek. I hopped up quickly to look into my mirror. The bruise had been where he had kissed me. It was even in the shape of his sculpted lips. It was worried at this sight, what could it mean? I looked at my knee where the scrape was that I had caused when I fell. There was slight purple bruises along my leg that no one could see for my dresses went down passed them. I felt that enough time passed and Gaven would be waiting on me by now so I hurried into my new dress and ran out of my bedroom. I went to the kitchen and found my mother drying her hands from the dishes she had just washed.
“Mother may I go now?” I asked her as usual. She looked in the middle of wonder for a second but then nodded. “Thank you.” I said as I walked out of the door properly then as soon as I got off the porch I ran towards the forrest.
