The next time Arcum saw Winter was that evening as he was having his rations. She came out with white short cropped hair and crying. Arcum knew that Shiv had a tough Time keeping her in the seat since Winter was wobbly in her walk making it obvious that she was mildly drugged.

"What happened?" he cried as he quickly helped Winter to his mattress that resembled his bed.

"She forced something down my throat." she slurred and fell flat onto the mattress. She looked quite pale and tired.

"Poor soul." Arcum mumbled. He felt horrible for his friend she's tired and been through a lot. He looked up after Winter fell right to sleep and saw that her marking was real by the redness of the skin and the reddened aria.

Why did you do this?" Arcum asked and Shiv smirked a careful smirk as she nudged the rest of the way into the room.

"She wouldn't hold still." She hissed like a snake that was warning it's pray.

"That doesn't give you the right to poison her. "

"True, but I like her dazed she is much calmer than the true fusty self.”

Arcum knew that she was hitting all the right marks to make him angry.

"You could have killed her!" he screened and shaded his pen-dagger at her thought but Shiv blocked it with her own dagger as the ear pressing sound rang throughout the cavern.

A grin started to pierce her lips as her shiny yellowish green eyes laughed at his reaction.

"Now, now the child is sleeping." She hissed. They were locked in that position for only a second as the blades wined and screeched at the stress those two were putting on their blades.

Soon Shiv pushed Arcum aside with one huff. She managed to put salt in the wound she created by stroking her hair. Arcum could feel rage build inside him from her actions. "It is a shame that you didn't find her sooner. She would have been the perfect assassin since she is Greave's sister." That one sentence sent Arcum over the edge as hot tears streaked his face in pain and protest.

"The creed hasn't taken her yet." He protested. But he knew he was kidding himself.  As she sighed and started to snicker.

"You’ve given her to the creed when you left her as a witness."

"Forget the creed!" he yelled as Arcum felt ashamed for doing something so nice. " I can see that you need a moment."  she said and just left Arcum with sleeping Winter on his mattress. He felt ashamed for seeing Winter like this, hidden for a resin and he can't bring himself to end their future suffering.

The darkness had found them the way the creed always work and finds us all that have the family tie.

He looked at his new apprentice that he made his mind up to having since she is his find and that he feels responsible for her.
