poison and wine

2. leaving

I looked at the mirror one more time. I flicked my olive hair of my shoulder. I was going to say this. I've preparing myself for weeks and now was the best to tell them. I grabbed my mobile phone and got out of my room.

I took the steps to the living looked for my mom. I saw her in the kitchen by the counter.

"Hey mom," I said casually.

"Oh Honey," she eyed me for a second. I think she was waiting for me to say something cause I never said 'hey' at 7 p.m. I pressed my lips.

"I wanted to tell you something." I did a fake smile. She raised her eyebrows.

"I decide to..."

as soon as I said the door bell ranged.

"I take that." But before I knew my that opened the door.

"Allison, it's Lucy!" he called.

I walked through the door.

"aren't you coming?"

"I already told you I have some stuff to do." I was making an excuse for not going to that stupid reunion that we always do on Saturdays night.

"I know you don't have anything to do so c'mon!"

Before I could say something she grabbed my hand took me out of house.

Well I have to say Lucy was my friend. I don't have a best friend. I never had one. I have a complicated life. I never share my secrets to anyone but my brother, Austin, except one thing that I can't tell anyone. I always been lonely I have a lot of friends but I they are just friends for me.

Lucy's house wasn't far it was just two blocks away. When we arrived I could hear the music from the front yard.

I was there till 9, which I decided to go. We did things we always do; playing video games, dancing, drinking and.... Yes I drink. I know I'm just 16. My friends drink so I think they had a bad influence on me.

When I arrived to my house's porch I heard mom's shouting.

I turned the key in the lock. I opened the door I sneak my head first. I saw Austin holding his head in his hands. I slowly closed the door. I couldn't help feeling disappointed. I looked at my labs.

I looked at her. She looked straight in my eyes, like she was searching for something.

"Did you know about this? This was the thing you wanted to the me, wasn't it?"

"No," I mumbled as I shook my head.

"Do you use these?" she took a bag of drugs up.

"No," I freaked out.

"Is this what you wanted to tell me?"

"No, mom."

Our voices were getting louder.

"So what is it?"

"Mom, calm down!"I lowered my voice. "I can't tell you like this."

I looked at Austin. He rolled his eyes when he caught my look.

"Austin, go to your room." Mom ordered. By that he got up and went upstairs.

She went to the kitchen. I followed her. She poured some water in a glass. She drank it. she sat on a chair behind the table.

"I decided to....to leave." I finally said it.

"Leave? Where? Why do you even wanna leave?" she was freaking out.

"I just need to go away from

everything, maybe a boarding school."

"why do you wanna go away?"

"I just need to take a breath from everything."

She was confused. I've always been a family girl. So i think it was shocking for her.

"I know it's a sudden decision and it's confusing you ..."

"Of course," she cut me "I really don't know how to react to this." She shook her head.

I nodded. I looked at my lap. I could feel her eyes on me.

"I have to talk to your dad."

I nodded. I really didn't know what to do, so I tried to pass my mom slowly.

The moment I passed her I ran upstairs to my room.

I shut the door. I jumped on my bed and lied on it. If I didn't do that, if I appreciate the life I had non of these would've happened.

I heard a knock on my door. I took a deep breath.

" come in." I mumbled but it was loud enough for the person on the door.

I saw Austin opening room.

"What did you tell her?" He asked.

"Nothing." I mumbled.

"What. Did. You. Tell. Them?" He repeated his question word by word.

I swallowed.

"I want to leave."

"Boarding school."

"Where is it?"

"I don't know I haven't decided yet."

"I don't get you." He looked at me for a minute.

"I know it's crazy, but I can't stand her and I can't tell you why."

He narrowed his eyes.

"Please." I begged him. I begged him not to ask him. I didn't want to hurt him. I was her sister. If I told him I will hurt him one more time I can't stand seeing him hurt. That's why i'm going away.

Mom called Austin and saved me from his question.

He closed my door. I got up and changed my clothes to a comfortable one. I looked at my reflection. I had everything to be beautiful. Olive hair, green eyes, soft and spotless skin, tall but they don't count since your heart isn't beautiful and your hands are filthy.

I closed my eyes. Flashbacks. I remembered it all too well. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes as if they were going to fade away from my memory.

Someone opened the door. It was my dad. I saw it i the mirror.

" your mom told me everything but why?"

"I can't" I was so sick if this question.

What ideally loved about my parents was that they were pushers. If I didn't like to say something they didn't say anything. Mate it was because they knew if I make a decision there is no way that I turn back.

"If you want to go you have to go with Austin."

I mean he was the reason I was going away.

" what happened? You guys were inseparable." He crossed his eyebrows.

"We'll it's true but... I wanna be alone."

"Okay. But are you sure you want to go to a boarding school?"

"Yes, I'm sure. I've been thinking about it the whole summer."

"Okay but what's the name of the school?"

"I've been thinking about Hemingway, England."

"England, why not here in America?"

" I don't know, I thought that I like to try different people."

He took a deep breath. He looked around. I was so stressed but I already knew the answer. I mean why he'd disagree? I told him lie I wanted to try new thing and find my self. I knew he'd accept.

" okay.... You can go."

I was relieved

" thank you"

Okay so this my first story. And I'm trying so hard to write this.
