The Non-Society Girl

Jassy - short for Joselyn - is being forced. It isn't her choice. She really does not want to be a society girl. She doesn't want to dress fancy and go to dinner parties and dance fancy and proper. She just wants to live her life like any ordinary teenager. But, she's not getting the option. So when her mother threatens to take away her internet, phone and laptop, she agrees. And gets more than just sitting in the corner with her bff when said bff leaves and she's asked to dance. By a pair of cute, identical twins. Names? Jack and Finn Harries.

9. The Double Date No

A smile was stuck on my face over the next few days as Chance and I texted more often.

"What's got you smiling so much?" Maia asked me. "Did that cute guy I saw you with ask you out?"

"No, but I did get another cute guys number." I smiled. "His name is Chance and he's super sweet and cute." I told her.

"Ooh!" She cooed.

"I know, I know..." I said with a smile and a laugh, "but I doubt it's going to go anywhere. It's harmless flirting and he's all into the party and being a proper socialite and stuff that I hate. It would never really work out."

"You won't even try?"

"No, I think it'd just lead to me getting hurt..."

"Alright, I'll drop the subject. I was thinking that you and I and Nick and someone of your choice could go on a double date. I really want him to meet you, and he really wants to meet you."

"Fine, but as long as I get to choose."

"You will."

"When?"

"This friday?"

"I can't. There's another party..."

"That's fine, we can reschedule a double date. It'll just be Nick and I."

"You're the best best friend a girl could want Maia. Did you know that?"

"I did," she smiled and looped her arm through mine as we walked.
