The Non-Society Girl

Jassy - short for Joselyn - is being forced. It isn't her choice. She really does not want to be a society girl. She doesn't want to dress fancy and go to dinner parties and dance fancy and proper. She just wants to live her life like any ordinary teenager. But, she's not getting the option. So when her mother threatens to take away her internet, phone and laptop, she agrees. And gets more than just sitting in the corner with her bff when said bff leaves and she's asked to dance. By a pair of cute, identical twins. Names? Jack and Finn Harries.

10. It's a Date

Now, since I had to choose who would accompany me on this double date, I was really worried. Who could I possibly pick? Definitely not Jack or Finn. Chance maybe? We'll have to see.

Friday night definitely snuck up on me. My mum was shoving boxes at me and pushing me into my room before I knew it. Jesus Christ this woman needed to calm herself.

Now I was wearing red sleeveless dress with a laced bodice, and layered skirt. I slipped on the black pumps and slung the vintage full flap Chanel crossbody purse that I had slipped some cash for a taxi and my phone into. I guess this party was a little more casual.

My mum dropped me off out front and I walked in and stopped at the door. Everyone was dancing around the dance floor and enjoying themselves. Why did I have to keep going to these?

Someone tapped on my shoulder and I turned to see a smiling face.

"Hey Jassy."

"It's Jack."

"Your point?"

"I wanted to talk to you, like actually have a conversation, not just you being rude."

"Well, that won't happen."

"Come on, you don't wanna be here just as much as I do. Better to stick together."

I narrowed my eyes. "Fine. But no dancing."

"Sorry, but that's the whole point." He grabbed my hand and pulled me out onto the dance floor. I glared at him all the way until he spun me and then dipped me and I giggled. "You have an adorable laugh." He said.

"Thanks, I guess." I laughed again and he joined me.

"See, now you're enjoying yourself."

"Hardly, just because I'm laughing doesn't mean I'm enjoying myself." I smiled.

"You have the most beautiful smile."

"Stop complimenting me!" I complained as he dipped me yet again. "I can't compliment you back!"

"Why not?"

"Because I don't like you!"

"That's not very nice, Jassy."

"Well, it's the truth and the truth hurts."

He rolled his eyes and pulled me close to him. "What would you do if I kissed you right now?" He whispered.

"Punch you in the face." I whispered back.

He smiled. "Violent are you?"

"You bring out the worst of me."

He laughed this time and we both spun. "What would you say if I asked you out to dinner?"

"Well, since my best friend is dragging me along on a double date with her boyfriend and I need to bring someone, I'd say yes if you went."

"What about another time?"

"I'd say no."

"Then I'll go on the double date."

"It's a date."
