Can you tell by the cover? ITS ANOTHER 1D IMAGINE STORY!!!!!!!

9. For Jordon

AN: Jordon, it’s not exactly how you wanted it, but this sounded like too good of an idea to pass up! It’s still the basic feel though…and you still get the guy. ;)

I need to get out of the house. All that my parents wanted to talk about was college, college, money, college, college…it was enough to give any one a headache! I sighed, grabbed my swimsuit and towel off the bed, and walked downstairs. “Mom, I'm going to the beach!” I called as I walked.

“Okay, sweetie, don’t drown!” I heard my mom say. I paused, my hand on the doorknob, and turned my head, giving the kitchen door a weary look.

“Yeah, mom. I've been swimming since I was five, and I’m gonna drown.” I muttered.

“I heard that!” My mother poked her head out the door. I made a face, and she made one back. “I love you, Jordon.” She said, smiling at me.

“Love you too, mom.” I said, waving as I walked out the door.

I put in my earphones, and was jamming along to Imagine Dragons’ It’s Time. The beach was about half an hour away from my house. I was really into swimming. I did it to relax. I had just been accepted into one of the top universities for fashion design, and things were getting hectic since I was leaving in a couple weeks. My mom was bursting into tears every time I said the word university. I shook my head as I turned down the next street. I was really looking forward to leaving. There was nothing for me here in this small town. Besides, it wasn’t like I had anyone to visit, other than my parents. My boyfriend—well, ex-boyfriend, now-- had cheated on me with my friend, and every one sided with her when the truth came out. I honestly didn’t care—I was going to dump the jerk anyway. He treated me like I was property, and he didn’t ever really care about me.  I walked into the beach parking lot. There was no one there except a group of about five boys a little bit down the beach. I glanced over there as I walked over to my spot. They kinda looked cute, but at the moment, they were trying to bury one of their friends into the sand. He screamed and thrashed all around. I sighed. Ugh. Immaturity. Why can’t any of the hot boys be mature?  I pulled off my cover up, revealing my cute pink one-piece, and sat down on my spread out towel, pulling my hair into a braid. From my beach bag, I pulled my book, called Fashions in Today’s World, one of the assigned books I had to read from the university I was going too. I had just opened up to the chapter that had a rant about ultra-miniskirts, when I heard screaming. My head shot up, as I saw one of the brown haired boys plunge into the water.

“OI, ITS SO COLD!” He screamed.

“Louis, it’s nearly September!” A curly haired one yelled back. “Of course it’s gonna be cold!” I rolled my eyes, and returned to my reading. But that didn’t stop me from hearing their conversation.

“Zayn, why won’t you come in?” The blonde one asked.

“Niall, you know why.”

“Cuz Zayn is scared!” Louis jeered.

“I am not!” Zayn defended himself. I looked at him over the top of my book. Zayn was—literally—tall, dark, and handsome. By far he was the cutest of all of them.

“Are so!” The blonde one (I think his name was Niall) crowed.

“You guys, stop it.” Another brown-haired boy cut in. “Niall, Zayn doesn’t chase you around with pigeons, and Louis, he doesn’t chase you around, saying…um…you have bad BO.” As if on cue, Louis sniffed the air around him as if to make sure he didn’t smell. “So don’t make fun of him about water.”

“Yeah, and don’t make fun about you and spoons, Liam.” The curly one chimed in.  Liam gave him a withering look.

“I’m not afraid of water!” Zayn insisted.

“Then go in!” Louis dared. “Up to your waist.” Zayn visibly gulped, then straightened.

“Fine! I will.” He walked to the water, then looked back.  Louis cupped his hands around his mouth.

“CHICKEN!” He yelled. Zayn made a face, then started wading in. I put my book dawn and watched worriedly. Something bad was about to happen. I could tell. Soon he was up to his waist. The waves crashed around him, and he flinched.

“C’mon back, Zayn! You’ve gone far enough!” Liam yelled. Suddenly Zayn disappeared under the waves. He resurfaced, but farther out. He splashed the surface, panicked.

Help! You guys! I can’t swim!”

He must have gotten caught in a rip current! I thought. I jumped up and ran over to his friends, who were yelling to him things like, “Kick your legs! C’mon, Zayn, fight against it! C’mon!”

“No!” I yelled. “Don’t fight against it!” Liam turned to look at me.

“Who are you?”

“I’m Jordon, but now is not the time for introductions!” I dove into the water, hearing the surprised yells of the other boys. I swam with the current, and quickly reached Zayn.  “Stop struggling!” I yelled to him.

“I can’t swim!” He yelled back, slipping under the surface once more.

“I know! I’m going to help you! Stop flailing your arms or you're going to drown us both!” I ordered. He grabbed onto me, and I pulled him with me out of the current. Soon, we were in shallow water, and our feet touched ground. He stood up and immediately ran away from the water. I felt bad for him. The curly haired boy offered me a towel, and I accepted with a nod of thanks, wrapping the towel around myself.

“I’m in trouble, aren’t I?” Louis muttered.

“Yeah, you are in unbelievable trouble.” Liam smacked Louis across the back of the head. “Ya blooming idiot.”

“Zayn, are you okay?” The blonde one asked, as Zayn slowly tottered back and forth. He shivered, and the blonde one who’s name I can’t remember…Neil or something… handed him a towel. Zayn took it, then suddenly made a groaning sound.

“Guys, get out of the way! He’s gonna—“ Zayn puked. Since Louis was standing right in front of him, Zayn’s sick went all over his feet. “Hurl…” I finished weakly. Louis stared in shock at his feet.

“That’s sick.” He whimpered.

“Sorry, Lou…” Zayn groaned, clutching his stomach. I started giggling, and soon the other boys joined in. Well, everyone except Louis. He folded his arms and walked to the ocean.

“Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross…” He muttered to himself, washing his feet off in the water. Zayn blushed.

“Sorry…” He called.

“Don’t worry about it. You almost drowned there.” I patted his back. He looked over at me, and blushed even more.

“Hi, I’m Zayn.” He motioned to the tall brown haired boy. “This is Liam—“ He pointed to the curly haired one. “Harry,” He nodded to the blonde, “Niall”, then gestured to the one washing his feet. “And that’s Louis.”

“Jordon.” I shook his hand. “Look, maybe you should learn how to swim.”

“Maybe you can teach me.” He winked, and my stomach had butterflies in it.

“Maybe.” I responded. I turned. “I’ll see you boys around.” I walked away, feeling their stares on my back.

“Hey, wait!” I turned, and Zayn quickly caught up with me. “I never really thanked you for saving me.”

“No problem.” I shrugged, feeling my face turn pink. “It was nothing.”

“Um, I’d like to make it up to you…” Zayn scratched the back of his neck. “Maybe…uh…I could take you to dinner or something?”

“Um…” I tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear. “Uh…yeah. Yeah, sure. I’m going to college in a couple weeks though…”

“Well, are you busy tonight?” He asked.

“I don’t think so…”

“How about I pick you up around…say, seven?”

“Uh…” I grinned, my face turning red. “Yeaaaahhh, sure!”

“Cool.” Zayn bit his bottom lip. “Um, where should I pick you up from?”

“Oh, duh!” I slapped myself in the forehead, and he chuckled. “Here, I’ll put my name into your contacts. Maybe we should just meet at like Nando’s or something?”

“Yeah, sure. How about the one on Main?”

“Yeah, that’ll be great.” I typed my name into his phone.

“Okay, I’ll see you at seven.” He winked at me again, and I silently cheered.
