Can you tell by the cover? ITS ANOTHER 1D IMAGINE STORY!!!!!!!

17. For Jayde

For Jayde

AN: It was very hard for me to choose, so I went to my mummy…ahem.  So, if you don’t like the choice, I bequeath all culpability (oooh, big word! Thank you, Mr. Thesaurus!) to my mother. Blame her. XD Hope you like this! Xx

“I’m telling you, Jayde—Harry likes you!” My friend Carrie protested. I laughed, and shook my head.

“Never in a million years.”

“Then Louis does!” She said thoughtfully. “Or both of them do!”

“Or you're just obsessed with finding me a guy…” I rolled my eyes.

“Which one of them do you like better?” Carrie persisted. “Louis is adorable, you know, with the hair and the eyes, and the crazy sense of humor…but Harry? Harry is the entire package! Hair, eyes, dimples, and oh, Jay-Jay! Have you seen his abs?!?”

“Um, I don’t really pay attention…” I said, shaking my head as Carrie fanned herself at the thought of Harry’s muscles.  “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Louis and Harry are my best friends. And I’m pretty sure neither of them likes me.”

“Then why are they your friends?” Carrie pointed out.

“You know what I mean…” I sighed, and fell backwards onto my bed. “Besides, they’re both my best friends!”

“Girl, if I had friends like that…” Carrie giggled, and I threw a pillow at her.

“You are so weird!” Carrie rolled her eyes.

“So. If you had to pick one…who would it be?”

“That’s a horrible question.” I complained.

“Who?” I sighed, and looked up.

“I maybe might have a teeny tiny crush on Louis. Maybe.” Which was a lie. It wasn’t a ‘teeny tiny’ crush—it was a full on, every-time-I-see-him-my-heart-beats-like-a-sledgehammer kinda crush.  I tried not to let it show…Louis would never like me anyway. He referred to me as his ‘sister from another mister’. Carrie cocked her head.

“Mmm. I can see it. And he has a hot best friend, as do you…” I rolled my eyes again. “Didn’t he ask you to the school dance?”

“No, Harry did. We’re going as friends. He said that Louis wasn’t going, so we could hang out with him before, and then go to the dance after.” Carrie sat back and glanced out the window. Her face paled.

“Um…Jay? You know what you were saying that Harry and Louis are friends?”

“Do friends look like they’re about to kill each other?” I shot up and hurried to the window.  Louis and Harry were yelling right in the middle of my front lawn. Harry suddenly raised his fist, and Louis screamed something I’m not going to write because I would get grounded for a month. Carrie and I raced down the stairs, but it was too late.  Harry and Louis were already wrestling all around the front lawn, yelling and going at each other’s throats. Carrie grabbed my arm. “Jay…should we call the cops?” She asked worriedly. “Has this happened before?”

“Louis probably lost a FIFA match to Harry or something…I’ll handle this.” I marched over and kicked Harry in the leg. Hard. He yelped and rolled away from Louis. It was obvious that Lou had gotten the worst of the fight. “Harold Edward Styles!” I roared angrily, then turned to Louis. “Louis William Tomlinson! What in the name of all that is holy are you doing?!”

“Did Harry ask you to the dance?” Louis grunted, wiping blood away from his nose.

“Yeah…He said that you didn’t want to go, so me and him could go together—“ I started, but Louis interrupted.

“You liar!” He yelled at Harry. “You promised you wouldn’t ask her! You son of a--”

Say that again! Come on, Tomlinson; put on your big boy pants and say it to my face!” Harry jumped at Louis again, but I shoved him back.

“Harry, Louis, calm down!” I stepped in front of Louis, and Harry’s face seemed to fall. “What in the world happened?”

“He said he wouldn’t ask you to the dance if I didn’t!” Louis muttered, crossing his arms over his chest. I tried not to think about how absolutely adorable he looked when he pouted.

“Why?” I drew out the word, not seeing at all where this was going.

“Oh, my gosh, Jayce, are you that dense?” Carrie yelled from the porch. “They both like you, you idiot! Just like I’ve been saying all along!” I stared at Louis, then at a silent Harry. “They probably made each other promise that they would never ask you out if the other one didn’t!” Carrie added. I put a hand on my face. “Okay, continue your little Days of Our Lives bit. This is a good seat.” Carrie made herself comfortable on the porch.

“Oh, good grief…Harry? Louis? Say something!” I ordered. They glared at each other, then started talking to me, Louis trying to talk over Harry, and Harry yelling over Louis’ loud voice. They got louder, and louder, until finally I held my hands up. “Stop!” I yelled. “I can’t take this anymore!”

“But Jay—“ Harry tried. Louis sniffed.

“You boys have got to be kidding me!”

“We were just fighting to try to impress you!” Louis finally yelled. I froze, and Carrie sighed from the porch.

“I was right! I just want to make that clear!” She yelled.

“Now is not the time, Carrie!” I yelled back, then looked at Louis. “What do you mean?”

“We both like you…as you already know…” Harry said. “So we decided that we would stage a fight to see who you would pick…but Louis found out I asked you, and the fight kinda turned…”

“Un-staged.” Louis finished, rubbing his jaw. I rolled my eyes.

“You guys really think that fighting is going to get my attention?” Harry and Louis exchanged looks.

“IT WAS HIS IDEA!” They both yelled, pointing at each other. I shook my head.

“You guys… I like you both. You're my best friends.”

“But you like Louis…” Harry muttered. I looked at him. “Well? I saw you try to protect him when I jumped at him.  You like him more, don’t you?” I stayed silent, but there was a spark of hope in Louis’ eyes. “Jay—“ Harry began.

“I don’t want to talk about this.” I grabbed Louis’ arm, pulling him to the porch and pushing him into a chair.  I hurried into the house, and grabbed a few napkins, dampened them, then went back outside. I shoved them into Louis’ hands, then turned to Harry. “Can you guys just go?” I turned away. “I don’t even think I’m going to go to the dance.” I turned and walked away. I heard Harry and Louis whispering behind me, and suddenly, Harry grabbed my arm. “What the—“ I started, but he pushed me into Louis.

“You two. Talk.” He ordered. “It’s obvious that you like each other, and I’m not gonna get in the way of that.” Louis looked over at him.

“Harry…” They exchanged a nod. “Mates?” Louis said.

“Always.” Harry grinned, then looked at me. “GET SOME, JAY-JAY!” He screamed, and I blushed. Carrie sighed, and moved a bit in her seat, but Harry grabbed her arm and pulled her into the house.  He complaints filled the air, until the door closed.  Louis looked down at me.  He still had a little dribble of blood on his upper lip, and I sighed, pulling the damp napkins out of his hands and dabbing at his face.

“Do I always have to take care of you, Louis?” I asked, half-joking, as I gently wiped the blood away.  He shrugged.

“I’m sorry, Jay-Jay.” He said softly. Now I shrugged.

“It’s okay…”

“I really do like you, ya know.”

“I know.” I grinned. “Can’t say ive ever had two guys fight over me before… haha.”

“Want to go to the dance with me?” Louis looked down at his feet.

“Sure.” I lifted his chin so he had to look me in the eye. “I’ve been waiting for you to ask.” He grinned, and grabbed me in a huge hug, lifting me off the ground and spinning me in a circle.
