Same Love

Emmy was just your average student at a middle/high school. She was just starting out her 8th grade year. She had a hidden secret that no one knew about...

26. The Not So Great Summer

The first few weeks of summer were pretty relaxing. Danny and I went down to the local pool, tanned, swam under the dehydrating sun. I even wore a two piece (only because Danny said I looked hot in it)! As summer drug on, it became apparent to me that someone had started a hate page about me. 'The lesbian nasty ratchet whore out with her smoking hot girlfriend. She doesn't belong with that ratchet ass hoe.' 'That emo brat. Cry about it.' 'I hope she dies. She's a waste of space.' I was absolutely taken back by the names they all called me. The person who owned the account, and four other girls always talking bad  about me. When Danny got word of this, it was not pretty.

Danny posted a video on Facebook threatening them and whoever else was in on it. She had me be in it and she had half of her face in rainbow spirit. "This is my BEAUTIFUL girlfriend Emmy, and these are the hateful things you say about her." She scrolled on the hate page on her tablet. "When I find out who started this hate page, I will beat their ass and anyone in accomplice with it. Take it down IMMEDIATELY." She ended the video and gave me a hug.

The video quickly spread all over Facebook and bits of it on Instagram and Twitter. In the end, Danny and I got in trouble for it, by my mom. "You young ladies have caused so much trouble. If you weren't a fucking faggot we wouldn't be in this mess!" She smacked me across the face and I sat there, looking down at my feet. Danny took my hand in hers and rubbed it soothingly. "You are throwing your whole life away on this girl Emily!" She yelled at me. "Because I love her mom!" I yelled back, standing up. "Don't talk to me in that tone. Lower your voice." She yelled back. I pushed her away from me and I looked at her. "Why the hell does my sexuality concern you so much mom? It's my life. I love Danny and she loves me! Why can't you just accept that?" "Because it goes against God and it is wrong!" She glared down at me. I ran a hand through my hair and I sighed, "What's the fucking point in arguing anymore?" tears streamed down my face and I covered my eyes. I just let out a full on cry for about 10 minutes before I heard the front door shut. My mom and my brother.
