35. The End

"In the end, we all knew this was coming didn't we?" I mumbled to myself as I drowned the pills and chased it with Absolut. "We all knew it would end like this," I slid the knife across both my wrists. "I'm not coming back, not this time." I finished my words and slipped into darkness, my head bouncing off the countertop and soon I was laying in a pool of my own blood.

Danny

They carried her away in a body bag, zipped shut. I didn't get to say good bye, she didn't let me fix this. "She didn't let me fix what I caused!" Anger blurred my vision as I punched a hole in the closest wall to me. Suddenly, it wasn't anger blurring my vision, it was tears. They streaked my eye makeup down my face and left black stains on the previously white carpet, which was also stained with her blood.

I must've laid there for hours. No one bothered to move me, talk to me, her brother and her mother were waiting to see which emotion I would take on next. I was just empty, drained, gone. Half of me, the half that could feel good, was gone; all that remained was pain.

Nights turned to days, and days turned to nights, days and nights turned to weeks. Finally a month had passed. I refused to eat, sleep, even leave the spot on the carpet I had been seated in ever since that day. I only crawled to the bathroom and then crawled back to my spot on the carpet. My world, my everything, was gone. My dad didn't try to intervene, and neither did Emmy's family. They placed food and Emmy's pillow and blankets by the spot I was seated at.
