18. Monsters Don't Live Under Your Bed, They Live In Your Head

*Triggering chapter*

I pushed the blade deeper in my thighs, smiling from the feeling. I carved so many hateful words into my thighs and stomach. I painted my wrists with my metal tool as well. The blood gushed from my body and onto the tiled floor below my feet. Hello bracelets. Hello headphones. Goodbye my real smiles.

~"So, tell me what you get from harming yourself?" The dream was so fuzzy, but real. "My perception goes fuzzy, I drown everyone and everything out. It gives me a break." "I hope you enjoy your, rather long stay." The lady in white mumbled. I was in a straight jacket, locked away in a white padded room, screaming.

I got loose from the binding and moved to my bra. I always kept a blade on me at all times. I slit my wrists and painted the walls in my blood. 'Monsters don't live under your bed, they live inside your head.'~

I woke up in drenched sheets and clothes as the annoying beep of my alarm went off. I hit the button with my palm and got up, pulling my hair in a messy bun and heading to go shower.

The water hit my cuts, burning them the moment I stepped in. I quietly washed away the little trail of blood that stuck to my skin, then washed my hair. I got out and brushed my teeth, put on makeup, skipped breakfast, and walked down to the bus stop. My sleeves were pulled all the way down on my sweater, Danny couldn't see and she couldn't know. What would she think? Surely they would leave scars. Would she still love me if I had ugly scars all over my body?
