The Initials on My Wrist - 1D Fanfiction

Leah has always wanted to meet one direction. She has a bedroom covered in posters, a billion t-shirts and lets not mention how many concert tickets she has pinned to her wall, because there are more than enough. When her Mom becomes their manager, Leah, being 19, would much rather take her Mom's offer and come on tour with them instead of staying home alone for six months and tags along. The only problem is that it is the middle of summer, and she wont expose her wrists. That counts as sweater's, long sleeve shirts and warm jackets, only to hide two letters, the initials of the person who she secretly loves, and always has. What happens when that same person, doesn't love her back?

16. Chapter Sixteen

Zayn's POV

It's 7 am when Leah opens her eyes. She starts to shake. I start to panic. "What's wrong?" I shout, but she just continues to shake back and forth. I pick her up out of bed as fast as I can and put a cold cloth on her forehead. After making arrangments with Allen last night he parked in the hospital parking lot, so I shove shoes on my feet and run out into the hospital, Leah in my arms.

"Help! I need help!" I call the second I walk into the door, just like I did the first time we brought her to the hospital. A nurse comes running up, so  I hand her the piece of paper that Doctor Martin told me to give to someone. She nods, Calling another Doctor, and he is ready with a surgical mask and gloves. He looks at Leah, feels her heart rate and forehead. He brings a gurney with him, and I lay Leah down on it.  The doctor whispers something to the nurse, and she wheels her away quickly. "Doctor Martin just said she had to be on bed rest, that she was too weak to have surgery and we would have to wait for the better part of a month for her? We are only here a week so we can make arrangements for another doctor-" I explain but the doctor stops me. "I am Doctor Casey. Now I am going to be completely honest with you, Leah shouldn't have left that hospital." Those words hit me like a ton of bricks. "Leah is going to the ICU, intensive care unit. She is in critical condition right now. If we don't operate on her right away, she could die. If we do operate on her now, she could die. Our only option is to Operate on her now or the infection will spread. She needs to eat and she needs to hydrate. Now anyone who is with you probably wants to see her before we operate on her, you have half an hour before she goes in to the surgical suite. Please, don't panic. She is in good hands." The doctor explains, walking away. I put my hands to my face and cry a bit, before running out to the tour bus to get the boys and her mother. Please Leah, be okay. Please.

Louis' POV

"Hey, Leah," I say, even though the doctor put her to sleep. "It's hard for me to say this, but I'm terrified you won't make it. I know I shouldn't be thinking like that. You don't know how scared we all are. Every one of us, crying out there. Even your Mom. I know you forget sometimes that we love you, because we do. Not just Harry, I know Zayn does, and of course Niall, Liam and I do. You made the tour bus lighten up somehow, even when you were sick. Just your presence, Being there," I say, starting to cry. "I- I didn't know that having you around would be the way it was. You know everybody out there? They are standing hand in hand, heart in heart. We all want the best for you sweetie, and that's what your going to get. I know everyone out there probably said the same thing I did, and they meant it too. Thank you for making our lives better," I say, kissing her forehead and getting up, going outside to the rest of the gang, who stand against the wall, hand in hand. I join the line, and we all bow our heads.

Zayn's POV

The doctor finishes Leah's surgery as we eat turkey sandwiches out of the hospital vending machine outside her room. The doctor walks out, shuts the door and stands there for a minute. "She's going to be all right." He says. It takes us all a minute to realize what he said before we all stand up and embrace in a group hug. "Thank you! Thank you!" We all repeat, crying tears of joy. I call Perrie, Louis calls Eleanor and Liam calls Danielle, and eventually we are all there joking and having fun, obviously so happy that Leah is alright. "Please, can we see her?" I ask, with Perrie on my arm. "You may all go in, but you have to be very quiet. She is still really groggy and probably doesn't feel to great regarding all the medicine we had to put in her." Doctor Casey agrees, then opens the door. We all crowd into Leah's room, to see her in her bed with her head propped up, and she slowly opens her eyes. "Harry?" She says, looking at Harry and blinking. "It's me!" Harry sings, coming over to her. "Why are you all here?" Leah asks. "Because we all wanted to see that you were okay!" Perrie exclaims, holding my hand. I kiss her forehead, not knowing Leah was watching and Leah looks down, probably upset. I know I should not have kissed her when I was dating Perrie, for Leah's sake. I just don't know why Leah is so needy, almost with me. It's like she is dependent that I am there, it is weird. Don't get me wrong, I love being with her. But I don't understand it sometimes.

Leah's POV

My stomach is killing me and I can't see very well, still dizzy, but I'm amazed by how many people came to see me. Perrie, Eleanor, Danielle, the boys, my mom, my aunt. I can't seem to focus, but I feel different, better. I feel better. "I missed you," Harry whispers, getting a reaction from everyone. "Hey, Um we kinda all did? She isn't your property." Liam defends me. I want to laugh, but It hurts my stomach. "I don't care who's property I am as long as somebody feeds me and brings me water right now. I'm hungry." I say, serious. I haven't been hungry for the better part of two weeks. Harry fetches me some broth, and I slurp it down. "When can I leave Harry?" I ask. "The doctor said two nights. The third day you can come back to the bus, but you should lay down as much as possible." Harry explains. "So you actually think I can walk." I say, sarcastic. He chuckles. "I don't care what you can and can't do, as long as I am here with you," He says. I feel so warm inside, yet something it still missing. I remember the initials I have on my wrist. That's what is missing, and I know it. "GET A ROOM!" Louis yells, reminding me of the day we went on our first day. "This is my room. Your the one in it. Goodbye Louis." I laugh. Everybody files out for the day, but Harry sits in the chair in the corner playing on his phone. "What are you doing, Harry?" I ask. "I'll leave later. I just want to be here with you today." He says. "You don't have to go." I whisper. He laughs, and with that, I  drift off to sleep.
