Lucille had moved in with me and I'd given her one of the rooms downstairs. As for Soka's room, I told Lucille not to go in there and not to touch any of Soka's things, that included the office. I had ordered pizza and right now I sat on the couch eating a slice. Lucille skipped down and sat next to me in her little blue night gown, that went to her knees. She was attractive, but not like Soka. Soka wasn't as flat chested as Lucille. "Can I have a slice?" She asked in her sweet voice.

"Yeah sure." I grunted.

She reached for one and ate it. We sat in silence. "That was...surprising today in class." She started when we'd finished the pizza.

"Yeah." I looked away.

"You must miss her very much. People told me you two were very skilled."

I nodded at this. "I-I know I won't be as good as her, but I do want to become a death scythe. I'd do anything to become one. I chose you and not the other meister because I heard how skilled you were." She stammered slightly.

She paused and bit her bottom lip. "But...if I want to become a death scythe..." She started slowly, trying to find the words. "My meister has to be willing to work with me. Our wavelengths have to be balanced and so far...well...we-we really aren't balanced. Y-you think to much about the past and-and you really haven't worked v-very hard with me."

I stared at the nervous stammering girl. She was worried she'd anger me. "I'm sorry." I said.

I felt ashamed. I was her meister now and she was right, I hadn't worked hard. I sighed and stood. "I'll try harder I promise. If you think I'm doing something wrong, tell me. Ok?" I said.

She stood too, smiling. "Y-yes." She paused.

We stood uncomfortably. "About Soka though, I heard you tried to stop her even after she cut your arm off. You wanted her to stay...why?"

Her big eyes stared into mine. I sucked in. This was a touchy subject. "Do you like her?" She blushed a little.

"I-I like her as a friend. I've never had romantic feelings toward her." I scratched the back of my head.

"Oh good." Lucille brushed a strand of hair from her face and leaned up.

She pecked me on the lips and ran into her room. I stood there, then touched my lips. What just happened?
