16. Well That Was Unexpected

Louis's P.O.V.:

I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. As I sat up, I realized that I wasn't in my flat, I was in Niall's. I completely forgot that he needed me here to watch his son. I made my way out to the kitchen to see Eleanor eating an egg sandwich. "Morning El." I passed her and gave her a kiss, and when I did, I grabbed my sandwich and went to the other side of the table. "Did you go out and get these for us?"

"Yeah, I also stopped by the hospital to bring one to Niall. He's a nervous wreck."

"I would think. Any news?" I asked.

"When I got there, she was about to go into surgery. She looked scared, but she'll be fine."

"Oh, okay." I bit into my sandwich and let the silence envelope us. Out of nowhere, Eleanor started talking. "So, happy anniversary to us."

"Happy anniversary. Listen, I'm gonna go sit with Niall for a bit. Do you mind staying here alone?"

"No problem. Keep me updated." With that, I threw some clothes on and headed for the hospital.

Niall's P.O.V.:

I paced back and forth in the waiting room for a good 10 minutes. Thank god Eleanor brought me that sandwich, I needed the energy. As I was about to sit down, I saw Louis walking towards me. "Hey man." He said, giving me a hug. "Hey, how are things at home?"

"Fine. Trevor's an angel."

"That's great."

"Listen, there's something I want to talk to you about." He said.

"What's wrong?"

"Well, last night, Eleanor was holding Trevor, and I told her that I liked the picture of her holding a baby, that she looked so natural. Then she started talking about having a kid of of our own. I'm so confused." He said, sitting down with his head in his hands.

"Louis, do you love her?"

"With all my heart."

"Well, I'd tell you to wait, but then I'd be a hypocrite. If you truly love her, then go for it."

"Thanks. I thought I'd talk to you because you know what to expect if we did choose to."

"Well, there will be sacrifices. If we go on tour soon, you might not be there for her." I responded.

"Dammit, you're right."

"Listen, it's your choice. Do what your heart tells you to do."

"Thanks." He pulled me in for a hug, but the doctor came out to. "Mr. Horan, I need to speak with you." I looked over at Louis, who was about to head out, but I begged him to stay. "Don't worry, Gabrielle will be fine. We fixed everything up for her. But, there's something we found while operating. When we were removing the infection, which was very deep, we discovered something. But first, I need to ask you something. Did you know anything about your wife-"

"Fiancé" I corrected him.

"Right, fiancé's pregnancy?"

"No, why?"

"Well, we discovered that she was carrying twins. It is very uncommon that this happens, but when it does, it's because the woman doesn't know about the other one. The pain she was feeling was probably the child punching against the cut." (I probably made all of those statistics up...oh well x)

"So, what you're saying is-"

"Congratulations Mr. Horan." He walked out with a little bundle of blankets in his arms. He handed it to me, making a few tears fall. I never thought I'd have two children. I moved some of the blankets around and discovered a pink hat. "My baby girl." I whispered. Louis looked over at me and smiled. "Thought of a name?"

"No, I'm gonna wait until Gabby is lucid enough to understand what's going on." I smiled. "Well, I'm gonna head out. It's our anniversary today, so I've got to plan something special." Louis said.

"Wait, would you like to hold her before you leave?" He sat back down and held her. He smiled and laughed. "Lou, you'll make a great dad someday."
