And when the night gets dark, and there's no way back, I'll call your name, but it's fading, we're fading; After leaving school for nine months, Fenella is ready to go to high school again.... Just not ready to face her best friend and former crush Calum. What Calum doesn't know is that he's the father of Fenella's baby. When given the chance to raise his child, even though both parents are only 16, the opportunity is taken away when he finds out that Fenella is going out with his now ex-friend Ashton Irwin.

1. Back.

You know something I don't

It's not like you to be cold,

Every night replayed, over and over

Fenella's POV

"Fenella Vera Lynn McHale. Do not go fraternizing with any boys. You hear me. And no speaking to that Calum boy. I do not need another child in this house. Understand?"

I nodded in understand-ment to my mother and held onto my stomach. I felt like I was going to throw up for the fourth time today. I closed my eyes, breathing in the rocky pine car scent. Sweat was trickling down my forehead like crazy.

Why did I agree to go back to school? I'm not ready for this, people will ask me questions. What do I tell Calum? How do I even face Calum?

The whirlwind of questions continued popping into my head as my mom yelled at me to get out.

I closed my eyes one more time, before taking one of my pills for the day. I grabbed my backpack from the back of the car and finally walked out.

After 9 months of being home-schooled, I took my first steps into East Valley high, unnoticed like usual. Getting to my locker, I found the old posters of various bands still in there. All my text books where in my backpack so there was nothing to get out. Walking into my homeroom, I was greeted by a banner saying 'Welcome Back Fenella' and some of my so-called friends asking about where I was and what had happened to me over the past few months. Not wanting to socialize, I simply walked around them, only to bump into Calum himself.

"Hey, Fenella! Where have you been, I missed my candy buddy." He said, putting an around my shoulder, causing me to quiver.

"Oh.. Hey Calum, I've been.. Just, uh- You know, helping out with the family for a while. Now that they're back on their feet again I can come back here," I replied, sitting on my old desk top, next to his. I pulled my uniform shirt down a little lower, hiding the scar.

"Well I really did miss you. I haven't been over in months. We haven't talked in months either, why won't you reply to my text anymore?" He swung his feet back and forth, making a 'whoosh' sound with his khaki pants.

These uniforms will be the death of me.. I thought to myself as Calum looked at me with concern.

"You ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine.. Just tired, haven't been up this early in a while," I lied again.

"Oh, well it's just really good to have my girlfriend back around." He put his arm around me again and had my head against his shoulder.

"Um, girlfriend?"

"Yeah, remember, I asked you out and you said no because you wouldn't be around. Well now that you're back.. You get the point."

"Um... Sure.." I continued saying weird and small phrases like that, avoiding eye contact with him.

As the bell rang, I clutched onto my books, looking down and hopping off the desk. I ran out the door, so Calum would be unable to catch up with me.

My first class of the day was my instrumental. Since we were moving towards the end of the year, it was pretty much a free period where we got to do homework and socialize while a movie was playing.

I walked into the empty auditorium, walking all the way to the back row and sitting down at the end seat in the corner. Already tired of this day, I took of the black blazer I had on and covered my entire self in it, curled up in the small seat.
