2. Exploring the City

I hadn't slept much after arriving at the hotel, the sun was shining through the window as I started to close my eyes. I managed to open them and gave up on the idea of sleep. Instead I quickly changed into fresh clothes and set out to explore the city around me.

Philadelphia was full of over-priced  clothing stores and restaurants. I was in my element. I walked into a small boutique where I bought several pairs of shoes, a cute belt and a pair of jeans. Next was a jewllery store, I walked in and my eyes fell upon a gorgeous, diamond necklace. I couldn't help but think that mum would love it. At the thought of this I quickly turned my attention to a pair of small, crystal earrings. I quickly payed for them and headed out back onto the streets. I crossed the road and entered a small up-market restaurant. I sat  alone in the corner while I ate. I was surrounded by families and couples. I couldn't bare it anymore. I left some money on, the table before swiftly leaving.

As I left the restaurant I walked straight into a tall, dark, handsome young man.

"Oh, sorry miss, I wasn't looking," the stranger said, his voice soft like velvet.

"Thank you, I'm Renesmee," I said taking my bags from him.

The stranger smiled at me, "Taylor."

"Taylor, I like it," I replied trying to think of something to say.

"Let me walk you home," he said.

"It's fine really, I'm just round the corner, I'm staying at the Ritz." I replied softly.

"The Ritz? That's expensive, I bet you batted you little eyelashes about to be able to get in their, unless you're friendly with the manager," he said, putting me off him. The way he said it was making it sound like I was some sort of slut.

"Excuse me, I beg your pardon, I am quite able to afford it considering I'm a Cullen," I snapped.

"Oh, please forgive me, I didn't know," he replied, sounding almost sincere.

"Well your forgiven, but you really shouldn't say stuff like that to people you've only just met, especially girls. Unless of course you want to put them off." I said looking at the ground.

"Believe me when I say I won't be making that mistake again," he muttered.

"Anyway I better get back, " I said. "Why don't you give me your number and we could meet up."

Normally I would be quite hesitant about who I gave my number to, but my instincts told me he was no threat.

"Sure," he replied.

We swapped digits before I started off back to the hotel. I knew I couldn't stay there forever, I mean after all if I did I would definitely run out of money quickly. Yet, I could always use my card, it was meant to be for emergencies only, but I have enough money in it to last me a life time. Maybe I could just........
