9. Chapter 6

Angel p.o.v.

"You got a call." Alex stated, appearing suddenly in my room. I set the test tube back in it's rack and took the cellphone.

"Kim and/or Jake, if you called to tease me cause I can't hurt you over the phone, I swear, the next time I see you, I'll kick you in the throat and rip out your vocal cords." I sneered once Alex had left, putting it on speaker and going back to my experiment.

There was silence, then a voice asked quietly, "They tease you?"

"Crap! Sorry Dallas. So, what's up?" I asked, desperately trying to change the subject.

"Angel. They call Alex just to tease you?" He asked seriously.

"Y-yes. Everyone who actually talks to me has my number, so I just assumed you were one of them. Sorry." I stammered hesitantly.

"Does Alex know?" He whispered.

"No. I can't tell him. Jake's his best friend and Kim is Wendy's friend." I murmured loudly, watching the chemicals in the test tube bubble over.

Alex's p.o.v.

I'm going to kill Jake! Yes, I was eavesdropping. My sister has her first crush, so I have the right to. I grabbed my keys and my phone.

'Meet me at the park in 10. It's urgent!' I texted Wendy.

'Ok.' She texted back.

"I am going to kill Jake in about twenty minutes. Thought I should let you know." I said calmly once Wendy arrived.

"What he do? Not give you back your extra drumsticks?" She teased.

"Him and Kim make fun of Angel behind my back." I explained.

"Those bi-"

"Hey! That's not very nice." I laughed. She stuck her tongue out like a three year old.

"Do you wanna come?" I chuckled.

"Yea. Let me just call Kim and tell her to meet us there. Better to kill two birds with one stone."  In twenty-five minutes, we were in front of Jake's house.

"Hey, man! Wendy said you wanted to talk to me?"

Angel's p.o.v.

"So, we leave Saturday at noon, and my dad will come and pi-"

"HE DID WHAT?!" I was interrupted by my dad's shout.

"I gotta go. Bye." I said, about to hang up the phone.

"Wait! Can I get your number?" Dallas asked. I quicky gave him my number, hung up, and rushed downstairs.

"What's wrong, dad?" I asked.

"Ask your brother. He's over Jake's." My dad replied, rubbing his forehead, his phone in his other hand. Alex couldn't of heard our conversation, could he? I ran upstairs to grab my keys and slip on my boots. The sun had already set, so I didn't have to worry about that. When I got to Jake's house, the first thing I saw was Alex, and he looked ticked off. Also, there was blood on his hands. I pinched my nose before slipping off my bike.

"What happened?" I asked. Then, I saw Jake. He was bruised and busted up, and his mom was supporting him.

"Alex, you didn't." I said quietly.

"HE WAS MAKING FUN OF YOU FOR SOMETHING YOU CAN'T CONTROL! WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?! IT'S NOT LIKE YOU STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!" Alex shouted angrily, stepping closer to me. He had never actually yelled at me, and it was seriously scaring me.

"Stay away from me, Alex." I warned, my fangs lengthening.

"WHY SHOULD I!?" He shouted, purposely getting closer to me. I backed away solwly, struggling to keep my cool.

"THE BLOOD, YOU IDIOT!! THE FREAKIN' BLOOD!" I screamed at him, accidentally removing my hand. He stopped abruptly, looking at his hands.

"I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF, ALEX! YOU'RE ONLY HURTING ME!" I screeched, the smell of human blood rushing to my head. With the little bit of self control I had left. I got back on my bike and headed home.

Dallas's p.o.v.

I finished packing just as the doorbell rang. I rushed down the hall to see my mom open the door.

"Hello. I'm Angel. We're here to pick up Dallas." I heard Angel say.

"Of course. Dallas talks about you all the time! You're even prettier than he said!" My mom said in her fake 'motherly tone.'

"Mom!" I groaned, rounding the corner.

"Hi Dallas." Angel said, waving at me.

"Hey." I replied.

"You ready to go?" She asked, somewhat awkwardly.

"Yea. Bye mom!" I said, kissing my mom on the cheek.

"Bye Dallas. Have fun and be careful !" My mom said as I followed Angel outside to a minivan. When we got in, I saw Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes sitting in the front, Alex and Wendy in the middle, and Angel took her seat in the back. I said hello to everyone and sat down next to Angel.

Angel's p.o.v.

I was startled awake by Wendy nudging me gently. She was saying something, but I couldn't hear what. I fell asleep with my earbuds in, so all I heard was Justin Timberlake singing the corous of Holy Grail. I swatted at my left ear until the earbud fell out.

"Wha?" I asked sleepily.

"I said we're here. Come on. Your dad, Alex, and Dallas are setting up the tents." She said, a smile on her face. I got out of the van to see that we were at our favorite campsite.

"This place is amazing!" I heard Dallas tell Alex as he put up a tent. I walked over to a bush and plucked off a handful of blackberries. This place had all kinds of fruit. There were strawberry bushes, blueberry bushes, blackberry bushes, etc. I ate the berries one by one as I walked around the campsite. I put my earbuds back in and drowned myself in music. I absentmindedly walked deeper and deeper into the forest, soon arriving at my favorite spot. It was a clearing surrounded by trees and strawberry bushes, the perfect amount of sunlight shining through the trees. There was a small-ish lake in the middle of the clearing, the water crystal clear. I'm pretty sure no one else knew about the place, or people would be swarming all over it. I sat down and took one of my earbuds out again. I ate a few strawberries, thinking about nothing in particular. This place calmed me, and helped me clear my head. I sat there for about an hour until a voice startled me.

"So this is where you wandered off to." Dallas said quietly, sitting down beside me.

************************I DID IT! I POSTED ANOTHER CHAPTER! This chapter was actually really hard for me to write, because I couldn't really think of anything. Sorry if it's crappy...***********
