The Makeover

Darcy's your typical popular girl. She's part of the drama club and she's the most known girl in school. She likes to party and have a good time with her friends. Marcel on the other hand your typical geek. He's part of the science and math club and he's the most bullied kid in school. He likes to stay at home where no one can hurt him.

What happens when Darcy gets paired up with Marcel on a school project and later gets dared to give him a makeover? Will Marcel break from his shell or will he never change?

Darcy's POV

I took a deep breath, my books against my chest. I knew that today was going to be a disaster. Jackson and Marley would be all over each other just to get me jealous.

I took my first step into the school with everyone's eyes on me. I ignored them all until I got to my locker. I almost broke down there but I kept myself together.

I gathered all the necessary books for first and second period. When I closed my locker and turned around and  Marley and Jackson making out in front of the lockers.

I let my head drop as I walked to my first class. I usually never went early but I couldn't be standing in the hallway if they were doing that.

I walked through the doors and took a seat at the first desk I saw. When I looked around, I noticed someone sitting by them self. I looked even closer to see that it was Marcel.

Should I sit with him? I pushed my nerves away and grabbed my bag.

"Hey Marcel," I started. "Could I sit with you?"

Marcel looked away from his work a small smile on his lips.

I took a seat beside him my eyes landing on his notebook.

"What you up to?" I asked. Marcel turned to me an eyebrow raised.

"Just work." He turned back ignoring me. I let out a sigh as the bell rang.

Marcel's POV

It honestly felt like a repeat of yesterday. Except this time I was Marcel and not myself.

"Alright class, today I want to you work with the partner at your desks on a math quiz to prepare you for the upcoming test. The booklets are up at the front so get started. You have the rest of the period."

I mentally let out a sigh. Now we had to be partners again? It was gonna be hard to stay away from her.

"I'll just get the booklet so we can start." She spoke softly. I nodded my head as she got up.

Once we got down to work, it was pretty easy to talk to her. It felt kinda like old times. Well for me.

Then there was that same equation from last night, which I haven't still figured out.

"Uh, ya I don't know how to approach this." I spoke feeling embarrassed.

She gave me a smile. "It's okay. I was having trouble with it too. There's a trick to it. I'll teach you."

After about fifteen minutes of Darcy explaining the question and the steps to figure it out, I finally understood.

"Wow, that makes way more sense if you do it like that. Thanks Darcy."

Class was over a couple minutes later so I started to put my books away.

"That was fun." My eyes landed on Darcy to see her smiling wide.

"You think maths fun?" I asked her in shock. She nodded her head. "Why would you think I didn't like it?"

We walked out of class together as we continued to talk.

“I don’t know, it’s just that you're popular. I didnt expect you to like math. But i guess I was wrong.”

“For once you are Marcel.”

She gave me a wink before walking off. To be honest, I've never had a conversation with Darcy like that in a while. It felt good, but it also freaks me out.

Darcy's POV

After class, it was lunch. I walked into the cafeteria looking for Abby to see that she was sitting with her boyfriend and Marley. Jackson had his arm wrapped around Marley's shoulder.

I wanted to barf. I hated her.

I walked over to the table with my best fake smile.

"Hey, Abby. Could I speak to you for a second?" Abby gave me a look like 'I'm busy' and shrugged me off.

"Just text me later." She turned back to her conversation leaving me to just stand there.

I was in total shock. Usually Abby was on my side. She never even hung out with Marley and re rest of the jocks unless her boyfriend wanted her too.

"Really? You're gonna hangout with them instead of me?" I spoke not really realizing what I just said.

Marley turned to me with a smirk on her lips. "I guess you got replaced." She turned back to her friends laughing obnoxiously.

With a heavy sigh, I turned around not feeling like myself anymore. Ever since I stopped that fight yesterday, my life has drastically changed.

I walked out of the cafeteria making my way to the library.

The library. Somewhere you should never step foot in when your as popular as me. But I didn't have anywhere else to go.

I scanned around the room for any familiar faces until I saw Marcel reading a book and eating lunch by himself.

"Hey." I spoke from across the table. Marcel looked up as he pushed his glasses higher up in the bridge of his nose.

"Oh, hey Darcy." He smiled up at me before telling me to take a seat.

"Do you always eat here at lunch?" I asked as I pulled my lunch out. He nodded his head.

It suddenly got awkward with both of us not knowing what to say.

"Uh, are you okay Darcy?" He asked making me look away from my sandwich.

I stared into his piercing green eyes for a bit trying to come up with an answer. Maybe u should just tell him the truth.

"I know being popular isn't what life is about. And I know I shouldn't complain about it either since I have such a wonderful life, but it's hard when you start becoming an outcast. People are judging me Marcel."

I looked back down at my food feeling like my appetite had disappeared.

"You don't have to be embarrassed about it. And as for being an outcast, that's up to you. You're only an outcast if you make yourself into one."

Marcel stared back at me with those familiar green eyes.

"You remind me of someone. I don't know who but you just look so familiar."

We continued to talk and I was honestly having a great time. I don't remember the last time I could just be myself around someone. But with Marcel, it was so easy.

Marley's POV

"Just stop embarrassing me Jackson!" I let out a groan was I pulled him down the hallway. Jackson threw his arm around my shoulder his gross warm breath hitting the back of my neck.

"Sorry babe."

I rolled my eyes as we continued to walked but I stopped when I noticed something in the library. I looked through the glass windows when I saw Darcy sitting with some geek. She was laughing and so was he.

"What're you looking at?" Jackson's voice boomed out.

I pushed him away and glared at him.

"Can you shut up?" I whisper screamed. Jackson put his hands up in defense and took a step back.

With a sigh, I turned back around and watched.

"What the hell are they doing?" I asked myself.

"Hey, is that Darcy? And the freak Marcel?" Jackson whispered. I look over at him to see his face was red and he looked anger.

"Are you mad?" I asked. He nodded his head. "Of course I am. That kids gonna get it."

A smirk appeared on my face. "Leave them alone. I have the perfect plan."
