Gwen: A One Direction Fanfiction

My name is Gwen Edwards-Malik, and I'm the daughter of Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards. Since my parents broke up when I was a baby, I've been splitting time with my dad and One Direction and my mom and Little Mix for longer than I can remember. This summer, I'll be touring with One Direction. The problems: I can't stand my dad's new girlfriend, and the sheer amount of girls that love my dad and his band is ridiculous.

1. Wake up, Gwennie....

"Wake up, Gwennie, the plane's gonna leave without you."

These are the words that woke me up on June 14th, 2025, at 6:00 in the morning. I'd have to board the plane to London from the hotel in Moscow in just an hour.

"Okay, okay, I'm getting up." I mumbled, forcing my heavy eyelids open to see my mother at the side of my bed.

This is going to sound crazy, but I'm the daughter of Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik. I'm Gwendolyn Tricia Edwards-Malik (usually just Gwen Malik or Gwen Edwards) and I was born on July 4th, 2015. My parents broke up when I was just over a year old, so I've been spending my time between Dad and Mom for as long as I can remember. In fact, I was about to tour the world with my dad and his boy-band One Direction for the summer. They're doing the Flashback tour, which is quite the rage for older bands now, which is songs from their first three years. I usually travel with my mom and Little Mix, but Dad asked me if I wanted to go with him this summer and, well, it'd be rude for me to refuse, especially since I usually just see Dad around Christmas and my birthday, one of the rare occasions he'll be seen in the same room as Mom. But they never talk. They haven't talked since their big blowout the day after my first birthday.

In twenty minutes, I was dressed in a pink t-shirt and blue denim shorts and waiting at the front door for Mom to be ready to go. I'll never understand why it takes so long for her to get ready to go in public. Comes with being a pop star, I guess.

"Okay, let's go." she ushered me into the Little Mix tour bus - possibly the most embarrassing way to get around - and drove me to the airport.

"You sure you'll be all right, Gwennie?"

"Yeah, mom, no problem."

"Want me to walk you to the runway?"

"No, that's all right. I'll be fine."

She stared me down with her piercing blue eyes for about a minute before sighing and saying, "Okay. Just be careful." she enveloped me in a big hug and kissed my forehead. "Be good for your dad and uncles, okay? Tell them I said hi."

"Gotcha." I should probably mention I consider the other One Direction members as my uncles.

"Love you, Gwennie."

"Love you too, Mom."

In ten minutes, I had gotten on the plane to London. I pulled out a book as a little ping went off in my pocket. I had my "emergency phone" and found a message.

Dad: When you get here, there's someone special I want you to meet

Great, Dad had a new girlfriend. I guess he'd never get back together with Mom now. I looked out the window and watched Moscow disappear under a cover of gray snow clouds, taking my mom and Little Mix with it.
