Gwen: A One Direction Fanfiction

My name is Gwen Edwards-Malik, and I'm the daughter of Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards. Since my parents broke up when I was a baby, I've been splitting time with my dad and One Direction and my mom and Little Mix for longer than I can remember. This summer, I'll be touring with One Direction. The problems: I can't stand my dad's new girlfriend, and the sheer amount of girls that love my dad and his band is ridiculous.

2. London

When London came into view, I was very groggy and getting to be grumpy. A thick fog settled over the city like usual, and I found it hard to believe I was born in such a gloomy place. But I'll admit, it has a certain charm to it.

The plane zeroed in on a runway at London Heathrow Airport, and the plane landed for good.

I climbed down from the plane and into the arrival area and retrieved my heavy pink duffel bag, then looked around for whoever was going to pick me up.

I caught Dad and Uncle Louis almost immediately. Well, they were waving maniacally so they were easy to find. Not to mention surrounded by the paparazzi and what looked like every girl in London.

I ran over and was immediately wrapped in a tight group hug. As much as I love my dad, at that moment I couldn't help feeling a little bit homesick. I was doomed. Last time I went out with Dad and One Direction I got lost and the paparazzi and tabloids got a good dose of gossip. I could still remember the headlines and my terrified face on the cover of the Globe and other grocery-store tabloids; "Zayn Malik Abandons Helpless Daughter Gwen?", "Gwen Flees After Threats from Zayn to Leave One Direction", etc.

I was seven then. My mom never trusted them with me again. She went way out of the way of her tour just to retrieve me from Los Angeles.

It seemed that things were changing.

"Come on, Gwen, let's go, the bus leaves in an hour!" Louis beamed down at me. I always felt safe around him. I smiled back.

My dad took my left hand and Uncle Louis my right. I tried to act happy. Like this was going to be fun, going on world tour with my dad and extended family.

No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't ignore the camera flashes behind me. They made me self-conscious. I haven't liked getting my picture taken since that fateful September day when I was splashed across worldwide celebrity gossip magazines.

It was going to be a long tour.
