Broken Pieces

Rose and Harry used to be inseparable. As Rose's older brother, he always looked out for her and they did everything together - not a secret kept from either of them. But when Harry became famous, he practically forgot about Rose. She didn't even receive a text or call from him on her birthday. What happens when the boys take a break from the tour and all stay in the ginormous house that Rose owns and used to share with Harry? What happened to Rose while Harry was gone? Will things go back to the way they were? Or are there too many broken pieces to put the puzzle back together?

17. Sleepover

Zayn POV

I thought we would only watch the first movie so when Rose left I was beginning to get up. But then she came back a minute later and just laid down next to me after putting the second movie in. I wrap my arm around her and pull her closer against me. She gets comfortable with her head on my chest again and I rest my chin on her forehead, watching the movie. I hope she's finally starting to trust me.

Halfway through the movie Harry appears in the doorway. His eyes take in the sight and he glares at me. "What the hell?" He exclaims quietly.

"Why are you whispering?" I ask.

"She's asleep," He points.

"Oh," I reply.

"What are you doing?" He questions me, quietly and yet with anger.

"Laying down. We were watching a film," I answer him. He sighs and looks at her. His gaze softens.

"No funny business," He demands. I nod. He kisses her forehead and then leaves the room, shutting the door behind him. I finish watching the film and then turn the tellie off when it ends.

I'm about to go to sleep when I hear Rose talking in her sleep. "I have to go, um get rid of stress," She mumbles. I wait a while and don't hear anything. "Please don't kill me," She whimpers. I tighten my arms around her, nervous for her. "I'll do what you say. Please don't kill me!" She exclaims louder.

"Rose, it's okay," I tell her, but she's still asleep.

She grabs her arm tightly, even though she's sleeping and whimpers again. "No!" She screams, and then jolts awake, crying.

"Shhh, Rose. It's okay. You're okay," I whisper, holding her close to me. She moves herself up so that her face is level with mine.

"It was so real. It always is," She sobs, tears still spilling.

"It's okay. It was just a dream." I tell her. I wipe her tears away and get her to calm her breathing. "Do you want to talk about it?" I ask. She shakes her head. "I'm gonna get you a glass of water," I say beginning to get up. She grips my arm, shaking her head again. I relax back on the bed and pull her right against me, holding her in my arms. "You're safe now," I whisper.

I wait for her to fall back asleep as I rub her back. When she finally is out, I let myself doze off as well.

I wake up in the morning to light coming through the room. I open my eyes to see a beautiful pair of blue eyes staring at me. "Good morning," I say to her.

"You can't talk about last night," She replies.

"That didn't sound like a good morning," I frown.

"I'm serious Zayn. As far as the boys are concerned, that never happened," She says poking my chest.

"Okay. Fine," I respond, just becoming aware of it now that my arms are locked around her waist still. She doesn't make a move to get away though. "Did you sleep well after that?" I ask her.

"Yeah, actually I did," She answers, reaching up to trace my forehead where the stitches are. I wince at the flash of pain. "Sorry," She apologizes.

"It's okay," I reply.

"We should probably get up. It's like two in the afternoon," She laughs dryly.

"You sleep late," I make fun of her, not moving.

"I was waiting for you to wake up. Your arms are around me you know," She sticks her tongue out.

"You could have gotten up if you really wanted to," I whisper, unhooking my arms and getting up. I exit her room, leaving her without a comeback.
