Broken Pieces

Rose and Harry used to be inseparable. As Rose's older brother, he always looked out for her and they did everything together - not a secret kept from either of them. But when Harry became famous, he practically forgot about Rose. She didn't even receive a text or call from him on her birthday. What happens when the boys take a break from the tour and all stay in the ginormous house that Rose owns and used to share with Harry? What happened to Rose while Harry was gone? Will things go back to the way they were? Or are there too many broken pieces to put the puzzle back together?

22. Sinking In

Rose POV

I wake up and look at the clock - it's 17:32 (5:32pm). I climb out of bed and feel a rush of dizziness, but it isn't nearly as bad as it was a couple of hours ago. Did I pass out? Or was I just tired? Still having a eerie sense of calm, I pull on black ankle socks and grab the bottom of my sleeves with my hands, feeling kind of cold.

I open my door and start descending the stairs slowly. "Harry would've killed him if it wasn't for Zayn," I hear Niall say. I stop moving, still out of their sight but knowing I'm close.

Harry sighs - a sound I've known all of my life. "How's she?" He asks tiredly.

"She hasn't come downstairs at all. Been stuck in her room the whole time," Liam answers.

"I can't believe he said all of that stuff," Zayn announces in a quiet voice.

"What'd he say?" Liam questions gently.

"He raped her," Louis whispers. I sink down on the stairs. I can't stand while hearing this. Not all of the information is sinking in, but some of it is and I'm kind of in shock.

"How long were they together?" Harry spits out.

"I think she mentioned something like a year," Niall says quietly.

"She went on like that for a year?" His voice cracks. A single tear slips down my cheek. I wipe it away quickly and force myself to stand up, making my way down the rest of the stairs.

All of the boys look in my direction as I come into sight. I walk right by them and towards the kitchen, not wanting to get into this. Plus, my head isn't clear still and I feel hungry.

As I enter the kitchen I put on a kettle of tea and put leftover spaghetti from a couple of days ago in the microwave. With nothing else to do but wait, I'm forced to look up and see all of the boys standing in a line before me.

"He admitted to everything," Zayn finally speaks after two minutes of silence.

"Okay," My voice is flat and boring - unrecognizable. And all the boys notice.
