Finding Change

Meet Florence de Vere. Flo for short. She's from one of the richest families in London, her parents wanting her to take on the family business. But she has other ideas. She wants to sing, much to her mothers dismay. She's never fit into her mothers lifestyle, the formal dresses and boring parties.
Meet Harry Styles. Part of the big boyband One Direction. 5 years ago his life changed, when he became part of the best thing in his life. But his life took a change for the worst. He started hanging around with the wrong crowd, smoking things he shouldn't, doing things that he shouldn't, piercing and tattooing his body. The other boys try and support him but his job may be coming to an end.
When these two people meet for a one night stand, could both individuals get something they both want out of the result?

16. Chapter 16

FLO'S POV-
I drove to the Doctors, all sorts of thoughts going through my head. Yeah I was stressed out. I don't even know why I was. I couldn't eat, or sleep properly. It must be the pregnancy. I'll ask the nurse, I tell myself. It wasn't even that I wasn't sorting my life out.
This morning I applied for a university, one that I could take my little girl to where she could be properly looked after whilst I work. I'd chosen to do a music course and it felt so good being able to do what I wanted to do for a change. Hopefully, if they accept me, I'll start in September.
I parked up and made my way to the waiting room.

"Appointment for Florence?" I ask the receptionist.

"Of course. Down the corridor to the right. The father is already in there, you can go and get yourself ready," she grins at me. I look at her confused.

"The father?" I ask her again.

"Err yes. Your partner?" She questions. But I wasn't there long enough to answer.
I open the door to the doctors room and sure enough standing there was Harry.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I ask him, closing the door behind me. But he just stares at me.

"Wow you look good," he says. I guess I'd changed a little in the two months we hadn't seen each other. I'd dyed my hair a dirtier blonde, making my eyes look brighter. I also had obviously gained weight, but I was careful not to gain it in places that I didn't want to. Other than that I hadn't changed much. I probably had faded skin and huge bags under my eyes from lack of sleep though, that just comes with the pregnancy.
Whereas Harry looked almost the same. He was wearing black skinny jeans and a beige jumper, covering his broad chest. He had his loved brown boots on and a beanie, covering up the mass of curls. But he did look good. His face wasn't drawn like it used to be and his eyes were brighter, lips fuller. Whatever he was doing, it worked.

"What are you doing here?" I ask him again, taking my jacket off.

"I wanted to come and see you," he replies. I unbuckle my pants and motion for him to turn around, which he does.

"How did you even know I was here?" I ask him, getting the gown on.

"Well you certainly didn't tell me," he retaliates.

"Don't you dare!" I shout at him. "You lost that chance Harry!"

"Flo I've changed," he pleads to me.
There's a knock on the door and the nurse comes in.

"Ahh Flo. How are you feeling lately?" She asks me.

"Just stressed," I tell her, looking at Harry besides me.

"Well don't get too stressed, it won't be good for your baby," she smiles. "Let's get started shall we."
"You. Keep your head up here," I tell Harry motioning to my head. He chuckles but then realises I'm not joking and stands by my side. Other than that awkward silence it's just me and the nurse talking about stuff. She asks me how everyone reacted to it being a girl.

"Everyone's chuffed to bits," I say looking at Harry accusingly. "My parents can't wait," I smile. Harry's head turns to look at me.

"You spoke to your parents?" He asks.

"Yep," I say.

"Well you can tell them that everything is great with her. She's developing perfectly and on time too," the nurse smiles at me. "I'll leave you to get changed."
I motion Harry to turn around again whilst I get back changed.

"Flo please give me another chance," he murmurs.

"Harry I can't. You've had two chances to change and neither of them worked. I don't believe that you've changed in two months, you can't have gotten your life together in such a small amount of time," I tell him.

"But I have. I've stopped drinking, stopped going out. You can even ask the boys, they thought I was ill," he tells me.

"I didn't care about the drinking and going out Harry. I cared about the honesty and loyalty," I say.

"But I have changed," he tells me again.

"I'm sorry I don't believe you. Showing up to one appointment isn't going to prove that to me," I tell him.

"So all I've done is for nothing, you're not going to give me another chance?" He says, his voice getting angrier.

"I'm sorry, I can't go through the pain again Harry," I tell him one last time before leaving the room. At the end of the corridor I turn around to see Harry slumped on the floor with his back against the wall, head in his hands. My heart started beating faster but I knew I had to get out of there, I just couldn't think straight. I felt horrible but I knew it was the right thing to do.
But the next couple of weeks made me feel even worse. It was all over the news. "Boyband sensation Harry Styles has finally cracked..." I couldn't go anywhere without hearing how he'd been in a fight, or drank too much and gotten taken to hospital and I knew it was all my fault. I felt so guilty but I couldn't just go back to him. He scares me when he's like this and I can't put myself and my baby in danger like that.

One day the boys rang me asking to help them out.

"We're trying to help him as much as we can, he's just too far gone," Liam tells me.

"Listen there's nothing I can do. He didn't listen to me when I lived there, why would he now?" I ask him.

"Because he cares about you Flo," he replies.

"No he doesn't. I'm sorry I can't help," I tell him before I hang up. After that I ignored all their calls and text messages. That was until I picked up a magazine a few days later. "Harry Styles continues his meltdown, fighting with boyband member Zayn Malik.." I read the while article about how they'd gotten into a fight. There were pictures of Zayn, with a bruised eye and bloody lip and of Harry, with a broken nose.
I picked the phone up immediately and rang the boys. "I'm going to go and see him. Be on stand by," I tell them.
