Truth Or Dare

We all sat in a circle, alcohol in our hands. We were probably too drunk to care about anything in the world. "Louis, truth or dare?" my friend Ben asked. "Dare." I said with no hesitation. "Oh, trying to be brave, huh? Fine, I dare you to kill the girl." he said

6. Chapter Six

Rachel's P.O.V.

Louis will be here any minute and my flat looks trashed. My parents haven't been home, as they went to Alaska for a business trip, so I don't have to clean. I was rushing around throwing away trash and doing the dishes, when the doorbell rang. I walked towards the door, but stopped and looked down at myself. I was still in my dirty sweats I changed into when I got home! Ugh, this is a disaster! "One minute please!"

I darted to my room and threw on some shorts and a 'Captain America' shirt before running back to the door. I smiled and opened it.

"Sorry it took a second."

"It's fine."

Louis came inside and followed me to the kitchen.

"So are we still watching a movie?"

"Yeah, I brought a few in case you wanted to watch one of mine. But if you have some that's fine too."

Okay, well you can pick. I have a rack in the living room if you want to look at them. He nodded and disappeared as I put a bag of popcorn in the microwave. Louis soon returned with the film, 'Grease.' "Good choice."

"It's one of my favorite."

I smiled and got the finished popcorn and poured it into a large bowl.

"Okay, ready?"

He nodded and we went over to the living room. I set the popcorn down and put the movie in.

"Do you want a blanket or anything?"

"No, thank you. I'm fine."

I nodded and joined him on the couch, playing the movie.

I noticed throughout the movie we had both moved closer to each other. Maybe we were just cold or something. A funny part came on and we laughed and looked at each other. By this point we were so closer our noses were very close to each other. We looked into each other's eyes for a minute before I turned away like nothing happened. As much as I wanted to kiss him, we weren't meant for each other. It's almost like we're from two different worlds. Plus, the whole reason we're hanging out is because we have nothing else to do, right? Wait, I have tons of other stuff I could do! So why did I agree to hang out with him? Maybe I like him, a little... What, no. I don't like Louis. We're enemies. I may not be able to explain why I was with him now, but I do know we're enemies and different people, so we would not be a good couple. Or friends.

"It was fun hanging out with you."

Louis had stayed after the movie and we played on my Xbox for an hour before just talking for a while. I had to dodge questions about my dad a few times, but overall it was fun.

Louis got a text from his mum saying it was time to come home, so I walked with him to his car.

"I had fun too."

"But can I ask you something?"

"Who is that guy in the picture I asked you about yesterday?"

"My dad."

I was telling the truth. Why does he keep bringing it up?

"Yesterday you said you were having dinner with him tonight. I was here tonight and I didn't think you left at all, nor did I see anyone besides us."

"Louis I have to get inside."

"Rachel. Why won't you answer my question?"

"I think I hear the phone."

"Rachel, you don't. Please answer me."

I swallowing the lump in my throat. Should I tell him? He won't leave it alone if I don't give a good answer. And if I'm caught lying again...

"He's dead, okay?!"

There. I said it. And it didn't feel good. I have never, ever talked to anyone about him. I didn't plan on it either. I turned and walked to sit on my porch, hiding my face. Like I said before, people don't see me cry either. I heard someone sit next to me.

"I'm sorry."

Why would he be sorry? It's not his fault I'm weak and can't hold in my emotions.

"It's not your fault."

"I shouldn't have brought it up. I just wanted to know because whenever I talked about it you change the subject."

"Because I don't talk about it. I never have and I never planned on it."

"You can talk to me, okay? I know we didn't exactly start off on the right foot, but I want to change that."

I looked at him and smiled.

"Me too."

He smiled back and we started looking into each others' eyes again. Should I stop it this time? I do want to kiss him. Really bad. I had never fancied someone so quickly. But Louis is different. He makes me feel different. I like the way his eyes sparkle when he smiles and his laugh- What am I saying? If I let this happen and it doesn't go well, I'm going to crash and burn. Of course, live in the moment, right? I need to make up my mind before anything happens. Just go with it, Rachel, how hard could I be?! Pretty hard when I'm laying in bed surrounded by tissues... Oh, who cares at this time?

We both leaned in until our lips met. Sparks flew around us. We pulled back and smiled.

"You know what? Who cares what Sasha and them think. If you are willing, I'm showing them how we feel."

I was shocked he wanted to tell them. I mean I was willing, yes. Because then I could show them they don't own us and Louis and I could just be ourselves together. But I thought he wouldn't want to.

"We can."

"Tomorrow, then. Want to meet me in the morning?"

"Sure, I'll be in my car in the back of the parking lot at seven."

"Cool, see you Rach. I can call you that, right?"

"Hmm, you have my permission but Ben and your other friends don't. Make sure they know it."

"Ben better leave you alone now."

"Louis I'll see you tomorrow."

He chuckled and waved goodbye, leaving me ready for some sleep.

I was a little bit nervous of what people would think of Louis and me. But it didn't matter as long as we're happy. I was looking for Louis, who I'm waiting for in my car. Someone knocked on the window. It was Louis. I unlocked the door and he climbed in.

"Hey, love."

"Hi. So what exactly are we telling people?"

"I say we start with nothing. We just hold hands and walk around laughing and talking not caring about stares that I'm positive will be given to us. Then it's up to you during classes and stuff."

"Alright, then. Are we ready?"

"We still have twenty minutes."

"Okay, well I guess not then."

He smiled and scooted closer, putting his arm around my shoulders.

"We're in this together. They can say what they want. If someone bugs you, tell me."

"You're adorable."

He smiled and leaned in to kiss me.

Good thing I decided to check the time during our make out session otherwise we wouldn't have time to walk around holding hands and talking. I threw my bag over my shoulder and Louis came around to my side of the car, intertwining our fingers.

People watched as we walked past them, not caring what was going through their minds. We finally got to my locker, where Louis had to go to class. He pecked my lips and we went our separate ways, leaving me to answer questions alone until lunch. I hope I can make it.
