DELILAH *Sequel*

I guess I'm not the daughter that they expected to have. Oh well.
My mother (the only person in this world that defends me) was diagnosed with lung cancer just a few months ago, and none of us even want to think about how much longer she has. My older sister, Minnie, just went off to college, and without daddy's little princess in the house, he gets mad about everything and anything. He hates the love of my life, my friends, my job and all the other things in my life that I love.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, my father is Harry Styles... Right?

Part II to MINNIE (A Harry Styles Fan-fiction)

22. Twenty Two

The newspaper in front of Harry's face is lowered to reveal his features. Minnie runs to him with a smile on her face as if it were Christmas morning. "Watch the sling, princess." He winces, attempting to squeeze her back as well as he can. There's actually a tear falling on my cheek, and I wipe it before he can see it. "Pumpkin?" He looks for me passed my sister, a small hopeful smile adorning his face to show his dimples. "Come." I tip toe to him, making my way as slowly as possible to observe him. He isn't wearing that awful jumpsuit anymore, and there aren't handcuffs digging into his skin. He's in his pajamas. Plaid pants and a white tshirt, like always. It's practically like none of this happened. The only thing to prove to me that this whole thing was not a dream is that damn gunshot reminder on his shoulder. I sigh and fall onto his lap gently to rest my head on his unwounded shoulder. "I told you I'd be okay." he kisses my head. Minnie takes a seat on the arm of his chair and Mom comes in.

"How did you get out?" Minnie asks.

"I'm married to super woman." He smirks, and we all see her roll her eyes playfully from across the room. But she smiles. "And she needs some sleep because she's been up all night trying to get me out of the slammer."

Mom looks like shes about to drop to the floor, despite the caffeinated coffee flowing through her right now. She sets her mug down. "I'm fine." she tells us, resting a hand on her hip. I shift off of Dad's lap so he can get to his feet and over to her.  She grins up at him until he reaches her and plants a kiss on her forehead, then one on her lips. They face us, Dad's arm around Mom's shoulder.

"Everything is calm from here on out." He sighs out. "William will be locked up for a long time, the time he deserves. Your mother is healthy. Delilah is safe and Minnie survived her first semester of college." We all chuckle at her. "I'm not saying there won't be more drama erupting in this family. Just not anytime soon." Harry chews on his lip, smiling.

"We can only hope." Mom says, sighing and scurrying over to tackle Minnie and I with affection until Dad follows and we become one big laughing mess on the wooden floor. Her glistening eyes are wide to accompany her beautiful smile, like if her whole world is right in front of her. I look at Dad and see that his expression is the same. My heart is warm enough to melt right in this moment, and I love the feeling. A feeling I haven't had in a long time.
