Long Lost Twin

My name is Lizzie, my Mum recently died from cancer so I was forced to live with my aunt. That also meant moving schools and making new friends. I did have a Dad but I never knew him. Mum did, they split when I was born. He took my twin and Mum took me.

10. Chapter 10: Are You Jealous Now?

I pulled out my favourite dress from my wardrobe. I have exactly two hours to get dressed and ready. My favourite dress was navy blue and was covered in flowers. It also had a huge bow in the middle of it. I  paired the dress with my navy blue slip-ons and a black cardigan. Now I had to straighten my hair and do my make-up.

When my hair was dead straight, I got to work on my make-up. I decided to use a bit of mascara and a small amount of eye-liner. I put on my favourite lip gloss and I was ready to go with half an hour to spare. I used this time to sort out my blue handbag and made sure I had enough money.

The doorbell rang and I ran downstairs to get it. I threw the door open and saw Harry standing there. I rolled my eyes.

"What do you want?" I snapped.

"For you to forgive me." Harry replied.

"Never gonna happen. Buh-bye!" I hissed at him and slammed the door in his face. Ugh! Why won't he leave me alone! I am never ever ever gonna give him another chance. Never in a million years. He's with Kathy now anyway. She got what she wanted and so did Harry. He only used me in the first place and I don't know what he used me for. I didn't want to know. I don't know what changed his mind about Kathy. One minute he hated her guts, next minute he was sneaking around behind my back to sleep with her.

My phone buzzed and I pulled it out. I expected the text to be from Harry but to my surprise it was from Louis.

Louis: I'm outside, go round the back. Harry is here too.

Me: OK.

I locked the front door and went around the back of the house. I climbed over the gate, I couldn't be bothered with the lock and it was a small gate anyway, and ran to Louis' car. I climbed in.

"Hey." I greeted.

"Hey. Why is he here?" Louis asked as he started the car's engine.

"He wants me to forgive him. Something that will never happen in a million years." I explained with a roll of my eyes.

"I don't blame you. I wonder if Kathy knows he's here." Louis muttered.

"I doubt it." I sighed. "I know he used me. I can't figure out why though."

"No idea. Maybe you should talk to him." Louis suggested.

"No way. I don't want to talk to him."

"I know what he did was wrong but one day you will need to forgive him."

"I will forgive him when he proves he deserves to be forgiven."

We sat in silence for the rest of the journey. He parked outside of the cinema and climbed out. He ran to my side and opened my door for me.

"Thank you." I mumbled and forced a smile.

"It's no problem." He replied and gave me a wink.

"What film do you want to watch?" He asked me.

"Grown Ups 2." I replied.

After the film finished we had lunch at Burger King.

"Today has been great." I told Louis, this time my smile was real.

"Yeah. I can't see why Harry would cheat on you. You're such a great girl to hang out with." Louis sighed. I dropped my gaze and looked at the table. "Sorry."

"It's fine." I said and forced a smile. It wasn't fine. Why does everyone keep bringing it up! I want to forget about it but they all expect me to forgive him and keep going on about it.

After we had finished eating, Louis drove me home. He walked me to the front door.

"Bye, Liz."

"Bye, Lou." I replied. He leaned in closer to me, his lips a centimetre away from mine. He closed the distance and his lips were on mine. His arms wrapped around my body, pulling me closer to him. I felt his tongue glide across my bottom lip and I opened my mouth allowing his tongue to meet mine. I then ran my hands through his hair.

Someone coughed behind us and we broke apart instantly. I turned around to see who was there. It was Harry.

"What do you want?" Louis growled.

"I wanted to come by and see Liz." He snapped.

"She doesn't want you here. Now go." Louis snarled at him. Harry let out a small chuckle.

"I don't hear her saying that. Let her speak for herself." Harry retorted.

"Harry go." I interjected before Louis could reply. "Louis is right, I don't want you here." Harry looked me in the eye before turning around and walking off. I felt like he had just sent a thousand daggers into my heart.

"I should go now. Bye, see you on Monday." Louis said before walking back to his car. I gave him a small wave before going inside. I locked the door and buried my face in my hands.

Why did Harry always ruin everything! Ugh! I hate him!  I pulled my phone out and sent Jess the details on everything that had happened.

Jess: God. That boy can't take no for an answer can he? I think he's jealous that you have your eyes on Louis not him. It would be nice to hear why he used you and cheated on you.

Me: For you to find out you have to hear it from me. I don't want to know why he did it. I just want to forget it happened and forget him. It would be nice to just be happy for once.

Jess: Give me his number, I'll ask him. I won't tell you unless you want to know.

Curiosity was getting the better of me.

Me: I'll find out and tell you.

Jess: What happened to not wanting to know.

Me:Curious. I just want answers. Maybe I can forget easily when I know why he did it.

Jess: Text me when you find out.

I then sent Harry a message -

Me: Why did you use me? Why did you cheat on me? Before I can consider forgiving you I want answers.

Harry: I'll come over and tell you in person.

The doorbell rang fifteen minutes later and I let Harry inside.

"Answers now." I demanded.

"I used you to keep Kathy away. I don't like her." Harry began.

"Then why are you with her now!" I half screeched at him. I was trying my best not to yell and alert the neighbours.

"Let me explain. She then figured it out and threatened to tell you if I didn't sleep with her. I couldn't hurt you, you were my best friend's sister. Plus you're a nice person and don't deserve to be hurt. I then slept with Kathy and then she gave me another threat, I thought it would stop then. I had to sleep with her whenever she wanted and pretend I was into her otherwise she would tell you everything. I felt bad about cheating so I stopped seeing her and she then told you. I felt bad, really, really bad about it. I only stayed with her because I was scared that she would threaten you more." Harry explained. I looked at him in shock.

"Why didn't you just let her tell me? It would have hurt less. Plus I would be able to forgive you because I would know you wouldn't cheat on me!" I replied.

"How would I know? I didn't want Liam to hate me for hurting you!" Harry yelled at me.

"I would have been hurt either way!" I screamed back at him. "I hate you!" I turned my back on him and ran up to my room. I locked the door and threw myself on my bed. I sobbed into the pillow.

"I didn't want to hurt you. I liked you." Harry said on the other side of the door.

"Bullshit! Just go away!" I screamed through sobs. The house went silent and I assumed Harry had left. I wiped my tears away and fixed my smudged make-up by removing my make-up completely. I didn't want to look like a drowned clown. I unlocked my bedroom door and opened it. Harry was sitting down by the wall opposite my room.

"What're you doing here still?" I snapped.

"I want to apologise." He replied. I shook my head and walked downstairs. The door opened and Jenny and Joe were home.

"Hi guys." I said to them both.

"Dinner is in an hour." Jenny told me and I nodded.

"How was your date?" Joe asked me.

"It went well." I replied and walked into the lounge and sat down. I pulled my phone out.

Me: Louis, Harry is at my house and won't leave.

Louis: I'll be over in a sec.

I walked outside and waited for him.

"Boo." I jumped out of my skin and turned to see Harry there.

"What the . . .?" I gasped.

"I jumped out of your window so Jenny doesn't think you're cheating on your boyfriend." Harry said with a wink.

"He's not my boyfriend! We went out once!" I hissed at him. At that moment Louis' car pulled up the drive. He climbed out of the car and jogged up to me.

"Harry. Leave her alone." Louis demanded.

"I want to apologise!" Harry replied.

"She doesn't want you to apologise now leave her alone."

"Once again, she can speak for herself." Harry growled.

"I have made myself clear, Harry. I told you to leave." I told him calmly. "If you don't leave I'll call the police and report you for harassment."

"Ugh. Fine. Bye Liz." Harry muttered and wandered off to his car parked on the other side of the street.

"He doesn't know when to give people space, does he?" I mumbled.

"Nope." Louis sighed.

"I found out everything." I told Louis and he raised his eyebrows. I told him everything about Kathy's threats.

"He should never have gone ahead with it, did he honestly believe you would never find out?" Louis said as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Yup. He's an idiot to believe Kathy would never tell me. No wonder she had that smug grin on her face everyday when she looked at me!" I said as I paced in circles. "Why didn't I ever figure it out! It was suspicious how whenever Harry was gone she was gone! I just believed he would never do such a thing! I'm so stupid!"

"You're not stupid. You just gave him too much credit." Louis replied.
