30. 30. Cousin Felix

Devin's POV:

Three weeks past and it was time or I think it was time for us to fight the mayor. Quinn's mom and dad identified the mayor as Jonathan Kemp or as also known as The Stealer because he steals peoples identity. We walked into the woods. The mayor left the people to starve last week so we are trying to get enough food. With our books in hand we started getting some apples and other fruits for them.

We got back to the house. The mayor was gone for now. Everyone stayed at Allie's house and the house next door. We started passing out the fruits to the people. Mom stood up on the table.

"People! On slight notice we are having trouble with water here. So please be patient. The Stones, Paterson, Clarkson, and Ruins follow me." We went to the attic.

"Why couldn't your mom just say our first names?" Quinn asked.

"She uses peoples last names when it is really urgent or when she's mad." I said.

"You five need to get water from a diner on the other side of town. There you will need to go in the woods." Mr. Stone said.

"Please be careful and don't talk to strangers." Mom said. We took Mr. Stone's car and drove to the diner.

We got to the diner and walked in. Quinn, Jack, James, and I took the big water jugs while Allie

payed for them. I went in the car.

"Wait I forgot something!" I ran back inside and took my jacket.

"Devin?" I turned around.

"Hey Felix." I said.

"Mom. Devin's here." Aunt Sarah came out. She hugged me. At least there were no customers

"Devin what's taking so long?" Jack came in.

"Jack this is my aunt and cousin." I said.

"Come on Devin the towns people are waiting." Aunt Sarah and Felix followed us into town in their car with the other water jugs. We got to the house.

"We're here!" Allie opened the door and we gave the water jugs to our parents. Mom, Aunt Sarah, Liz, and Mrs. Stone went on talking. We then passed out water to the other people. We went to the attic.

"When are we going to defeat the mayor?" I asked.

"When the time comes I guess." Jack said. The door opened and Felix came in.

"You heard the whole thing did you." I said. He nodded.

"So tell me the whole thing." He said. We looked at each other. I started telling him.

"It all started when. . ."

"So here we are." I said.

"Wait till I tell everyone!" He got up and ran out the room.

"Hey wait!" I ran after him.

"Felix!" I tackled him.

"Nice tackle cuz." I got off of him.

"Promise that you won't tell anyone."

"Promise." I smiled. We both went back to the attic.

"He promised not to tell." I said. For the rest of the day we talked with my cousin Felix, until disaster struck.
