28. 28. The Mayor

Allie's POV:

We got back to Riverbank Hedge and walked into town. There were flyers with our faces on it saying in bold print: MISSING CHILDREN. I never knew we would be gone that long. We got to the house and I opened the door.

"Mom! Dad!" Quinn yelled. They came out from the kitchen. Quinn and I hugged them both. James's aunt wasn't here. I wonder why. For the rest of the day and for the week everyone stayed at the house.

************

It was close to January and we found my book. It was buried in a pile of apples in the market. When I walked home I saw the mayor talking to James's aunt, Liz. I continued walking then stopped at the library. I was some how drawn to it now. Like something or someone is calling me. I walked up slowly to the doors and opened them to walk in. As I walked in it was empty. The librarian was still her, moving slowly to put some books on the shelves. I walked to the left side of the library. It was all covered in dust. I took a random book and opened it. Blank. I opened another one. Blank. It me several times, until I took a book that wasn't covered with any dust. I opened it and there was writing. The color was purple. I told the librarian and she said that I can keep it since she never knew what it was and she didn't have any record of it.

************

We were in my room or the attic. The five of us had our books and put them in a strait line. Black, blue, purple, red, white, and yellow. The pages glowed purple and the words that were in the

purple book went on the five books. The same writing and text.

"These look like spells." Devin said.

"I think these are the words to stop the mayor." James said.
