12. Chapter 11

As Justin shrugged on a shirt he couldn't help but think about Audrey. He felt bad for her because she basically couldn't move due to him, but also he felt relieved that she wouldn't try to follow him because she was so sore.

With a sigh, he opened the bathroom door and stepped into the bedroom. Audrey was sitting up on the bed with her bottom lip pouted. Justin laughed.

"What's wrong?"

She crossed her arms. "I want to come with you."

Justin shook his head. "Can't do that."

"Whhyyy noottt? I deserve to come with you."

Justin raised an eyebrow. "What did you do that makes you think you deserve to come with me?"

Audrey thought for a moment and smiled. "I fixed your boner."

Justin rolled his eyes. "Yeah but that's cause I wanted you to. Plus, it's not like I just carry you with me over to the we--" he paused, realizing what he was about to say. "I mean I can't carry you with me wherever I'm going."

Audrey's mouth was parted open. "You're going to the west side?"

"Uh," he rubbed the back of his neck. "Maybe?"

"Justin!" she gasped. "Why would you do that? You know you could get hurt."

"Hopefully I won't." Justin muttered under his breath.

Audrey wiped away a few tears. "Please don't go."

Justin walked over to her side of the bed and knelt down. "I have to. I'll be okay though, don't worry." he leaned up to kiss her on the cheek but she turned her head so their lips connected. Justin smiled and then pulled away and walked to the door. "It won't take that long, I just have to talk to someone."

Audrey nodded, and then Justin disappeared into the hallway.

With her eyes closed, Audrey lied her head against the headboard of the bed. She'd managed to scoot over and grab Justin's shirt and her underwear from the floor so she didn't feel so exposed. When she took a deep breath, there was a knock on the door and her eyes shot open.

"Come in," she managed to say. The door opened to reveal Avery, looking as happy as can be holding a can of soup. Audrey furrowed her eyebrows and motioned for her to come over.

"Hiya! How's it goin? Are you sore?" Avery asked as she handed Audrey the can and a spoon. Audrey nodded.

"I can't even move."

Avery wiggled her eyebrows. "Daaangg. Must have been some serious bangage going on in here last night."

Audrey rolled her eyes. "Whatever."

"What's that supposed to mean? You didn't enjoy it?"

"Actually I did. Now stop asking me questions like that. I don't like the fact that everyone knows."

Avery shrugged and crawled over Audrey so she could sit next to her. "Veronica doesn't."

"That's because she was downstairs."

"Well, then again she might have been in Brandon's room." Avery said. "Even if she was downstairs I'm sure she still would have heard you."

"Shut up." Audrey punched her arm. "Now why did you bring me soup?"

"Because I saw Justin leave and I knew you'd be bummed." Avery shrugged. "Eat it."

Audrey looked at it once more before she gladly started to eat. It felt like she hadn't eaten in forever, which is probably true since everyone in the house was obsessed with cereal and that's basically all they ate.

Once she was finished, she set the can down on the side table and shifted closer to Avery. "I don't get why Justin had to leave."

"I don't either, but it was a pretty jerk move if you ask me."

Audrey picked at the edge of Justin's shirt that she was wearing. "I don't think he's a jerk. I just wanted him to stay. He'll be back though."

"Where'd he go?" Avery asked.

Audrey glanced over at her. "West side."

Avery's eyes widened. "Why?"

"I don't know." Audrey said. "All he said was that he needed to talk to someone."

"Hmm," Avery pulled her hair back. "Weird."

They sat in silence for a moment because neither of them knew what else to say. Audrey wanted to thank Avery for keeping her company but she looked like she was texting Seth--who the hell knows why, he's in the next room over--and Audrey didn't want to bother her.

As she leaned back, however, her stomach started to feel odd. Next thing she knew, she was swinging her feet over the side of the bed and standing up. It hurt so bad, but she managed to make it to the bathroom before she threw up. Avery ran in shortly after her.

"Are you okay?" Avery asked. Audrey slowly nodded, but kept her head near the toiled just in case she threw up again.

"I t-think I'm f-fine." Audrey managed to say. "M-my lower half hurts more than my--" as she was about to say something, she turned her head and vomited for the second time. Avery rubbed her back.

"Do you want some water?"

Audrey nodded.

"Okay I'll ask Seth to get some." she quickly typed something into her phone and after about five minutes, Seth appeared in the doorway with a glass of water. Avery thanked him and handed Audrey the water.

"What happened?" Seth asked.

Avery shrugged. "I have no clue. We were sitting on the bed and she just got up and ran."

Seth nodded and glanced at Audrey. "You okay?"

Audrey shook her head.

"Where's Justin?" Seth turned to Avery again.

"Audrey said that he went over to the West side to talk to someone." Avery spat. "Jerk."

Seth narrowed his eyes, and before he could say anything, Audrey threw up again. Avery rubbed her back and whispered to her that everything's okay. Seth crossed his arms.

"Okay, well, she's not pregnant is she?" he asked. Audrey's eyes grew wide and when Avery noticed, she assured her that she wasn't.

"She couldn't be. It's not possible to be pregnant right after it happens." Avery said simply. Audrey took a sip of water and just as she swallowed, she vomited yet again. Avery's eyes grew wide as she glanced up at Seth. "That's the fourth time in ten minutes."

"Let's wait--" Seth started but was interrupted by Audrey's vomit. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Or not."

"Seth," Avery said as Audrey threw up again. "Call Justin."

Seth nodded and dug his phone out of his pocket. He dialed Justin's number and put it up to his ear while Avery and Audrey waited patiently. Avery motioned for him to put Justin on speaker when he picked up but Seth turned away.

"Dude you have to get back to the house like right now." Seth said.

Audrey looked up at him. Tears were streaming down her cheeks at a rapid pace and she was shaking. Before she knew it, she was throwing up again.

"What do you mean you can't?" Seth spat. "Audrey's thrown up at least six times in fifteen minutes." there was a long pause. "I never said I was touching her." Seth rolled his eyes. "Just be quick."

Then he hung up. "Justin's coming."

Audrey nodded and leaned back against the wall. She leaned her head on Avery's shoulder as she cried. Her stomach hurt so bad and she had no clue why. She knew she wasn't pregnant because, well, it wouldn't feel like swords were poking at her stomach from the inside.

After puking again she heard the front door open and slam shut. Avery and Seth's heads turned towards the bedroom as they waited for Justin to burst through the door. When he did, Seth stepped into the bedroom to tell him what happened before he started yelling. But when Audrey threw up again, Justin pushed past Seth and into the bathroom.

Avery stood up so Justin could drop down next to Audrey. He put his hand on her back. "Are you okay?"

She shook her head and started to cry more.

"I'm sorry baby. I should have stayed home." he said quietly. "Can you tell me what happened?"

"I-I d-don't k-know."

Justin pulled her against him and kissed the top of her head. "It'll be okay. You're okay."

As she cried, he motioned for Avery to come back into the bathroom. He looked up at her. "What happened?" he spat.

Avery frowned. "Well you left, so, being the good person that I am, I came up to keep Audrey company."

"Did you bring anything with you?"

"Yeah I gave her soup." Avery narrowed her eyes. "Why?"

Audrey felt Justin tense up and she carefully pulled away from him so she could throw up again. He absentmindedly rubbed her back and demanded that Avery bring him the can. With a shrug, Avery agreed and was back within a matter of seconds. Justin snatched the can from her hands and brought it up to his nose.

Audrey watched as his face fell and he handed the can back to Avery.

"Well you must be a really great person because you poisoned her." he spat angrily. Audrey's eyes grew wide and she started to shake violently. Avery's mouth parted slightly.

"I-I...this can was never opened though!" Avery protested. Justin shook his head.

"Someone must have slipped some kind of poison in there because I could tell the minute you brought it in here," he glanced over at Seth. "Seth! Call a doctor, now.

Seth furrowed his eyebrows. "Ambulance?"

"No." Justin spat. "Doctor. Bring them here, because I'm not letting her leave."

"Okay," Seth said as he dragged Avery with him. Justin glanced down at Audrey who was leaning over the toilet, crying and shaking. Justin grabbed her wrists lightly and brought her over to him again. He pulled her up onto his lap and wrapped his arms around her.

"Shh, I'm here." he whispered and Audrey nodded. "I'm here baby girl, it's okay."

After a couple more minutes of reassuring her that it'll be alright, and after about two more times of throwing up, Audrey fell asleep in Justin's lap.
