17. Chapter 15: The Dark and Earth Elemental

 Wynter's P.O.V.

I gave the Water Elemental the Dark Gem, hoping she won't lose it to the Collectors. They could be anywhere. I remember a few years ago, a large group of Collectors came to our school in search of the Gems. They found nothing, of course, but I'll always remember it as a sign that they could appear anywhere and everywhere. I looked down at the remaining Gems in my hands. Green and white. Earth and air. I hope I am able to find them. I kept them both in my hand, just in case one glows without me noticing. I went left and the Earth elemental started to glow. Well, this is going to be easier than I thought. I went in the direction it instructed me to. Right, straight ahead, left, left, right. I finally looked up and found myself at a library. I went inside and followed the Gem's directions again. Turn right, left, left, straight ahead, right again. The Gem was glowing in super bright when I stopped after turning another left at the bookshelf. There sat a girl, nose buried in a book. Great, a bookworm, I thought. She won't come out of here if I tell her the truth... "Hey, there. We just got the book you requested. Come with me to obtain it." I lied, hoping she'll take the bait. She lifted her head and stared at me with her big brown eyes, as if she knew I was lying. "Great!" she smiled and got up. "Let's go." I led her outside the library and literally shoved her into the girl's bathroom. "Hey! What the he-" she started but I cut her off. "No, you listen to me, bookworm. Shut your face or they'll hear!" I explained as I looked out the door to see if anyone heard her cries. Once the coast was clear, I turned back to her. "Listen to me, and listen well, nerd. You're an Elemental and you better not disagree because you know nothing. Hear me? Nothing! You're too busy reading things from the past to notice the problems in the present. The King is trying to get the Gems for ultimate power and we have to stop it. You're an Earth Elemental whether you like it or not. I have already found the Water and Light Elemental and currently looking for the Dark and Air Elemental. Yes, I'm a Fire Elemental. Deal with it." I explained and handed her the Earth Gem. It started to glow in full brightness once it touched it's rightful owner's hand. "Wow..." she muttered. "Are you coming or not?" I asked, almost out the door. "Where are we going?" she asked, hurrying to catch up with me. "We have an Air Elemental to find." I answered and began looking down at the Gem. We walked around the school for a long time when it hit me that the Air Elemental must be in class! Duh! 'm so stupid. I started to turn around when I saw the Water Elemental with an goth girl. What the heck? I'm guessing it's the Dark Elemental. "Hey, welcome to the team, Dark Elemental. So glad you can join us." I said, rolling my eyes. "It's about time you got here! I've already found the Earth one!" I exclaimed at the Water Elemental. "Its Jenna, actually, and I couldn't find you anywhere." Jenna explained. "Who said I cared? Anyways, you could've just waited where you were. We literally went around the whole school!" I snapped. "Hey, shut up! DO you hear that?" goth girl said. I stopped and listened. Instantly, my blood turned cold. I knew the sound of those boots stomping all too well.

   They found us.
