A collection of poems about various topics. I will keep adding to this.

2. The Yew

  She visited the graves,

Her mother carrying her in her arms,

To leave her granny flowers.

The yew was just a little sapling.

She patted it as she passed.

She visited the graves,

Her mother holding her hand,

To clear snow off the grave,

The yew was taller than her now,

She picked off a leaf.

She visited the graves,

Her mother telling her to get off her phone,

To pay respect to grandparents long forgotten,

The yew was tall and healthy.

She glanced at it.

She visited the graves,

Looked down the rows,

The yew standing tall and proud,

And traced her mother's name in the stone.
