2. Confused

I sat there, gawping in disbelief, "This can't be my dad" I thought.. My dad is dead.

I sat there, for a good half an hour speaking to this guy who claimed to be my father, the sperm supplier to my mothers eggs. He started telling me all these stories about when I was younger, how he'd barely see me and how my mother was a crazed lunatic. He told me that he was out at sea a lot, and my mother didn't like this so she tried to murder him. He got away and never came back.

Of course, I confronted my mother about this and she swore blindly that my father is dead, he was lost at sea. But how can this be? I am speaking to a guy, who is claiming to be my dead father. I did the only thing I could think of, I messaged Lee. I told him the situation, I explained how confused I was and he offered to come see me, so we arranged to meet up.

We met at the country club, ten minutes from where I stayed. We sat down for a drink and started chatting away, about the most randomest of things to start off with. I decided I wasn't comfortable talking about my dad in a public place, so we went and sat on a hill that over looks the small village. We sat there for hours. Him, sitting there listening to me go on and on about my potential father and saying a word or two every so often just to show he was paying attention. After I was done explaining the whole situation, he gave me a hug and comforted me.

"Why don't you give this guy a chance? Some mothers don't like to tell the truth as they feel we aren't ready for it. You never know, this guy might actually turn out to be your dad after all."

After watching the sun set on top of this beautiful hill, Lee walked me home and said goodnight. "Give the guy a chance, you might regret it if you don't" and he was off.
