Kings (A Gang Story)

Andy was only ten when she lost her parents in a fiery car accident just three blocks away from home. She was a witness to their death as well. She regrets ever watching instead of helping. Now she blame herself for their deaths.
When she meets and befriends members of one of the two local gangs, she's recruited into the group known as Kennedy Kings. Andy must learn that where there are choices, follows concequences.
Will she remain guilty for the deaths of her parents? Will she make the right choices to lead her to the right path? Or will Andy become too hard to change and let her guilt lead her to make the wrong decisions?

7. No Family

*[Lexx POV]:* Doctor Jenkins looked through the paperwork he had in his hand. He looked up to us and shook his head. He made his way over to us and dropped his clipboard on the coffee table in the center of the waiting room. "Well, you kids can't stay outta trouble even if I paid you, huh?" He joked. Blades growled at him and Doctor Jenkins turned away and shook his head. "Okay, she has a huge concussion and a broken leg. Her arm was fractured but wasn't completely broken. Some bones in her rib cage broke as well, which may cause difficulty breathing. They were taped but at anytime, something can happen and they can puncture her lungs. She's very lucky, kids." He said. Bulldog opened hid mouth to say something but Doctor Jenkins cut him off. "She's in room 624." He said, "Go see her." And with that, we all rushed to her room. We passed by nurses and patients' families and friends on the way. Most were crying. That's another reason I hate hospitals. Someone's always dead. You always receive bad news. We got to her room and we all entered at once. We heard beeps after beeps. Kinda like with Blades when he was in the hospital. "Who's first?" I asked. Everyone kept quiet. I sat on the couch and raises my knees to my chin and buried my face. I raised up and was now straddled my Bulldog. Scooter flopped down next to us and the others got random spots in the room. *Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Be--* "Who was driving the car?" Bulldog's rough voice sliced through the awkward silence. They kept silent. "WHO DROVE THE FÜCKING CAR?" he now yelled, spit flying from his lip and veins popping from his forehead. "M-me." Chino stuttered. My eyes widened and I jumped up. "YOU DROVE THE CAR? THE CAR THAT COULD'VE KILLED HER?" I yelled in his face. "YOU FÜCKING JACKÄSS! I KNEW YOU AND ANDY HAD PROBLEMS BUT SERIOUSLY, DUDE? WHAT THE FÜCK? YOU'RE SO STUPID! IRRESPONSIBLE! I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!" I continued. He was never good to Andy! She was never mean to him! He treated her crappy all the time! I really wanted to kill him! I wanted to kill someone. Something. I had to let my anger out. I paced through the room with my hands in my hair. I closed my eyes and roughly breathed. "1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10..." I counted, pacing the room and shaking my hands. "23. 24. 25. 26. 27..." I couldn't think. My mind went blank. He better hope I don't get to 100. "44. 45. 46. 47. 48. 49. 50. 51..." "What's she doing?" Chino asked. "Chino, when she gets to 100, you better hope she isn't angry or you'll be running for days." Bulldog said. "67. 68. 69. 70. 71. 72. 73. 74. 75..." I counted. So far I was still furious. "80. 81. 82. 83. 84. 85. 86..." The room was full of tension. The constant beeping wasn't making it any better. Only reminded me of why I was mad. I could feel everyone's eyes on me with anticipation. "95. 96. 97. 98. 99. 100." I let out a final exhale and opened my eyes slowly. Instantly, I was staring at Andy in the hospital bed and I was furious. I turned around and charged for Chino. He moved and tried running. I grabbed his shirt tail and threw him down. I got on top and started pounding his face with my fist. He screamed for help and I finally stopped when I saw blood. He laid there on the floor and I got from on top of him. I swung and punched a hole in the way near me. I was stil angry. I looked around and saw a hideous vase. I'm about to do the hospital a favor. I marched to the vase and threw it across the room to the wall. It shattered into pieces and a security guard ran into the room. He grabbed me by the waist and carried me out. I tried fighting back but it was no use. He was too strong. Bulldog came to help but it wasn't of use. We both got thrown out the hospital. "Babe," Bulldog said. "Calm down. Please." He wrapped his arms around my body. I cried into his shirt and we just waited in the car for the gang to finish up. *[Regular POV]:* After I closed my eyes, I lost all pain. I enjoyed it. It felt wonderful. I started to see a blinding light and what looked to be an angel. It wasn't any ordinary angel, however. It looked familiar. The angel came closer and was recognized as my parents. Tears fell from my eyes as I stood face to face with my parents. "Andelle." My mother's hand reached to touch my cheek. I smiled and looked in her eyes. "Mommy." I said. "Andelle, you're dying." She said, tearing up. "What? No." I said. "I'm dreaming." I insisted. "I can't die. I'm too young." "Death doesn't discriminate against age." She said. She always spoke words of wisdom. "Mommy, I miss you." I said. "If dying means I can be with you, then I'm ready to die." I cried. "I miss you too, Daddy." I turned to him. They shook their heads. "No. You'll go back to your friends. Although we don't agree with you being associated with a gang, we still want you to be with them. Be with Kadie and Greg. Christine is nice to you, too. Please, just go back and have fun. Live your life." She pleaded. I wiped my eyes and nodded. I hugged them and walked away from the light and back to the blurry scenario of me in the hospital. "CLEAR!" A doctor yelled as my body went through a high power surge full of electricity. "CLEAR!" he yelled again. There was beeping and I began breathing again. If I was dead … How did I hear him? What sense does that make? I was in the hospital room, hooked to an IV machine. I was awake and heard everything, but couldn't open my eyes. I didn't want to open them. I heard a female crying and males yelling. "Who was driving the car?" The rough voice hissed. It was silence. "WHO DROVE THE FÜCKING CAR?" the voice now yelled. It scared me a little but I kept still. "M-me." Another voice said. "YOU DROVE THE CAR? THE CAR THAT COULD'VE KILLED HER?" the female yelled. "YOU FÜCKING JACKÄSS! I KNEW YOU AND ANDY HAD PROBLEMS BUT SERIOUSLY, DUDE? WHAT THE FÜCK? YOU'RE SO STUPID! IRRESPONSIBLE! I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!" She continued. That sounded like Lexx and Chino. Maybe the rough voice was Bulldog. There were angry footsteps and I heard counting. "What's she doing?" The voice that sounded like Chino asked. "Chino, when she gets to 100, you better hope she isn't angry or you'll be running for days." The voice that sounded like Bulldog said. Moments passed and the footsteps stopped and the counting reached 100. There was silence. Then I heard fighting. Grunting. Crying. Yelling. Beeping. It all went silent and I heard a rough punch. Sounds like this punches I throw when I put holes in the wall or when Greg does that. I flinched in the bed. Gpass shattering pierced my ears and my heartbeat sped up. *Beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep.* A rough grunt was heard and stomping. It was quiet and I felt alone. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around. Blades. Pits. Scooter. Tigre. James. And a bloody Chino. They all sat in my room and I gasped for air. Their heads shot towards my direction. I couldn't pretend to be asleep anymore. They already saw. "Andy." Blades said, struggling to stand. "Why are you guys here?" I croaked. "What happened? Why am I here?" I asked. "You were hit by a car." James said, sadly. "What?" Tears fell from my eyes. "W-who? Where's Frankie? Where's Lexx and Greg and Kadie and Christine and Jamie?" I cried. The beeping sped in the IV machine next to me. "Shhhh. Calm down, Bonita." Blades said, putting a finger on my lips to silence me. "You want me to calm down? I was hit my a freakin' car! There's bandages all over my freakin' body if you haven't noticed! You're supposed to be on bedrest and you're here worrying about me and my pain!" I yelled. "Where's my family?" I yelled louder. "We're right here." Blades said, referring to the gang. "I mean my actual family!" I yelled. He stepped back. He swallowed his spit and looked at me with lustful eyes. "They're dead." He said. I closed my eyes and turned away. "I meant my foster family." I murmured. "You have no family. You have a guardian and her kids. We are your family. We love you. We almost lost you. We cried for your life. Where's your 'family'? Not here, I'll tell you that." Blades walked away.
