Grace's POV

"Andrea, it's me, Grace. Your best friend." I was panicking. If Andra didn't recognize me, she really did have brain damage. After a short pause, she replied.

"O-o-of course I remember you Grace. And you, Michael." She attempted a weak smile that was obviously painful.

I breathed a sigh of relief. Andrea was going to be ok.

After staying with Andrea for several hours, I left her at the hospital with Michael. I didn't have a chance to talk to her about the fight, but it was difficult with Michael hanging around. I didn't know him well, but she wasn't going anywhere for a while, and I desperately needed a shower.

When I returned to my apartment, I collapsed on my bed. After a short nap I finally dragged myself into the shower, and blow-dried my hair. I had to meet Liam at the studio after lunch. Thinking about him gave me a weird feeling inside. It wasn't bad, but rather kind of an excited but nervous feeling. I slipped on dark wash skinny jeans, a light pink flowy top, and my white sandals. My wardrobe was lacking in footwear. I grabbed my bag and started downtown.

I found the studio with few problems. I had only moved to the city 2 months before, but I had a good sense of direction so it was easy to learn the avenues and streets system. As I opened the door I was met by a scrawny kid, who I assumed was an intern.

"Can I help you miss?"

I took a quick glance around inside before replying, "Yes. I'm looking for Liam Payne. He told me to meet him here."

"No problem. Follow me."

After walking through a small room decorated with a chic black leather sofa and some magazines, we reached the studio, where 6 or 7 people were seated on couches, with notebooks, pens and water bottles on the coffee table.. I felt a jittery feeling inside when I realized who the people were. The boys of One Direction, the boys whom I had learned every fact about, stayed up at all hours of the night for new music, spent Christmas and birthday money on for concert tickets when I was younger. Right in front of me.

"Hey Grace!" Liam stood up when he saw me come over.

"Hi Liam," I replied awkwardly. It made me feel really uncomfortable to be talking to him in the middle of everyone. I could feel the eyes on my back.

"I'd like you to meet everyone. This is Niall, Louis, Zayn, Harry, and Josh."

"Hi," I squeaked.

Niall piped in, "Grace, it's so good to meet ya. Liam has told us a lot about you." He looked different from two years ago. His face hadn't changed much, but his hair was no longer bleach-blonde. It was more of a light brown, with lighter highlights. He still had the charming Irish accent, although a lot of time in the U.S. had lessened it slightly.

I could see Liam blushing out of the corner of my eye. "I was raving to them about your talent," he explained sheepishly.

"And your good looks," Harry spoke up, grinning. Always the cheeky one.

Now it was my turn to blush. "Wow, thanks, guys. It really means a lot to hear that. Especially from you! I admit I used to be a big fan." I made sure to give Harry a look for his comment.

Liam chuckled. "We wouldn't say something unless we meant it. The reason we're back in the studio is to write a new album-I might have mentioned that yesterday- without any help from other writers or our old management. We want to prove to the world that we are true artists, not just performers."

I nodded my head. "Well for starters, anyone who loved you guys two years ago knew that you were real artists, and second, I think that the record is a great idea."

"Aww, thanks Grace." Zayn smiled.

"No problem." I returned the gesture.

"Grace, if you want to come with me, I put your guitar out here." I followed Liam into the hallway.

As he turned over the black case, Liam turned to face me.

"Grace, I think you're really great. I know that someday you'll be selling tons of records, and I'll hear your singles on the radio and say to myself, "Liam, you met that amazing girl and she deserves all the fame that is coming her way."

His words melted my heart. My idol was being so kind to me- it could be disputed that it was years of experience using the "celebrity charm," but the way Liam's brown eyes gazed down into mine  convinced me that he was sincere.

I suddenly realized that we had been staring at each other for a good 20 seconds. Embarassed, I looked away.

"Thanks again, Liam. You are so sweet and caring and I really appreciate it. Any girl would be lucky to have a guy like you. I bet your girlfriend would agree."

Liam looked surprised. "I actually don't have anyone special at the moment. It's been tough to trust anyone, living in the spotlight and all."

I admired his honesty. "I can imagine. Someday you'll find the perfect match, I just know it," I said, smiling.

"I better let you guys get back to work. I'll just pop my head in to the boys and be on my way."

Liam's POV

"Thanks again, Liam. You are so sweet and caring and I really appreciate it. Any girl would be lucky to have a guy like you. I bet your girlfriend would agree." I was stunned as Grace spoke. She had no idea that I wanted her. Her sweetness and sincerity, her beautiful smile. I did my best to conceal my emotions. I didn't have enough nerve to tell her how I felt.

As Grace walked back into the writing room, the boys were deep in a brainstorming session that involved disputing over lyrics and rhyming.

Harry argued, "It should be 'Silence makes me sad, why were you so bad?'"

Zayn rolled his eyes, "No, it should be, 'Silence is my escape, I never wanted you to be raped.""

Grace let out a giggle as she interjected, "Uh guys, I know you're more mature now, but I don't think your fans really want to hear you to sing about forced sex, and I think you could work on your rhymes a bit."

Niall should his head. "Grace is right, we want to prove to them that we can do this on our own, not make a fool of ourselves."

Grace nodded. "If you want to sing about silence, as you seem to be on the theme of, how about something like, 'Silence keeps my tears from streaming, so many nights I wished for you. But all that time, I was just dreaming, that we would ever come true."

My jaw dropped. Grace had just come up with a more meaningful verse than all of us put together had thought of in a weeks' worth of studio time.

The boys noticed it too- it seemed the entire room was stunned. Louis spoke up,"Grace, you are one hell of a poet."

"You should help us write the album!", Niall exclaimed. He really had no filter on his thoughts.

I panicked a little inside, shooting him a look. Grace writing with us meant that I would be around her... a lot. I wasn't sure I would be able to come up with any song ideas when I knew the girl I was crushing on would be in the room. But, at the same time, that meant I would be able to see her again. "That's brilliant Niall!"

Grace looked pleased but unsure. "I wouldn't want to intrude, I mean, I would be honored but I know it might be awkward having a girl around and everything and I don't want to be in the way..." She trailed off.

Harry spoke up."We need you more than you think, Grace. You might just be the only way to prevent this album from disaster. And we are all gentlemen. Having you around would be amazing if you give us a shot." He grinned.

"If you really want me here, I'd be happy to help. Do you want to talk about it amongst yourselves first? I don't want to step on toes. "

I chose this time to interject. "Maybe we should take a vote boys. Just to be fair to everyone in the room."

"I'll wait out on the sofa. Take your time deciding. As I said, do what's best for you." And with that, Grace scooted out into the hall.

I plopped down on a chair. "Is this a good idea?"

"Of course it is mate! You'll be able to spend time with her and ask her out. If that's what you want I mean." Niall exclaimed. He really loved speaking his thoughts.

I sighed. This could work. Or it could go horribly. What if I ask her to go on a date and she says no? Will I have to spend every day for the next two months with a girl who doesn't like me back?

It seemed that Zayn could read my thoughts. "Liam, she already admitted that she was a fan of One Direction. She's not going to turn you down. And if she does, we could always find someone else to help us write the album."

I sighed. Maybe this wasn't the worst plan.

Grace's POV

I was sitting on the leather sofa, barely able to control myself. ONE DIRECTION ASKED ME TO HELP THEM WRITE THEIR ALBUM. Thoughts raced through my mind. What would I do about work? I couldn't quit, I mean who knows if the boys will even pay me. But I couldn't be working 20 hours a day either-I needed sleep to function. I was getting ahead of myself. They might decide to finish the songs without me. As I was calming myself down, Liam strolled into the room. His darkwash jeans and Rollings Stones tee looked so flipping good on him. What WHAT? I needed to get a grip on myself, especially if I was gonna be around him a lot.

"Grace, we would be so excited if you would agree to be a writer on our new album!"

I couldn't contain myself anymore. I squeaked with delight as I jumped off the couch and ran over to Liam with my arms wide, embracing him in a hug. He hugged me back, and we stayed like that for a few seconds longer than necessary. We both blushed as we separated.

"Thank you Liam, this is the opportunity of a lifetime."

"No problem babe, I can't even say how happy we all are to find an amazing lyricist like you. I can't wait to see what kind of music we can make."

I couldn't have said it better than Liam. My life had just taken a dramatic turn.

So I hope you liked this chapter... the boys are in it a little more and I'm trying to introduce more of their personalities. All of the lyrics are my own if you're wondering (and no the rape line is not in any of my songs lol). You'll have to see what happens next...
