9. A Trip to the Park that ended with a Heartbreak

Rose's POV

"Do you want to go to the park while the boys are out?" Louis asked.

"Sure," I replied.

Louis wrote a note for the boys, and we hand-in-hand to the nearby park. As soon as the playground was in site, I quickly pulled him over to the swings, since I could see two girls heading for them too.

We got there just in time, and I plopped myself down on the swing.

"Dang it, I really wanted to sit there!" the girl with the long, light brown, wavy hair.

"You can take mine," Louis said, getting up from his spot as he made googley eyes at the beautiful girl.

I shot him a look saying: 'why would you do that?!' but he didn't seem to notice. The girl returned the googly eyes, and I felt a streak of jealousy shoot through me.

"So what are your names?" the other girl asked as she chewed her gum loudly.

"I'm Louis, and this is Rose," Louis said, and I waved, knowing not to talk in front of new people.

"I''m Eleanor, and this is my friend, Sophia," said the girl that Louis seemed to be taking an interest in.

It was really awkward for a few minutes, but I didn't dare say a word.

"So do you girls live around here?" Louis asked.

"Yeah, just down the street, we own a flat together," Sophia replied

Louis flirted with the girls for a while, before I was finally fed up with it.

I pulled out my phone, and texted: 'let's go home, Zayn just texted me that they wanted us to come home now, idk why but i think it's important xx'

Louis pulled out his phone, and after reading the text, said: "well, I'm sorry, but we have to get

going, we'll see you around, yeah?"

"Wait, before you go, can I have your number?" Eleanor asked, and I was seething as Louis gladly gave it to her.

We walked home, and I refused to say a word to Louis. I thought I could trust him, but then some other girl who is obviously prettier than me comes along and it's like I don't even exist. That's it, I'm done. He lost my trust, and now he will never hear words come out of my mouth again.

We got home, to find the car that the rest of the boys took in the driveway, but none of them in sight. I soon discovered the fridge stocked with junk food, and figured that they were probably in their rooms.

Louis kept asking why I wasn't talking to him, but I just pretended he wasn't there as I grabbed a tub of ice cream from the fridge and a spoon from the drawer.

I angrily stomped up the stairs as Louis yelled at me, and tried to blink away the tears. I walked into Liam's room, because I really need someone to lean on right now, and locked the door.

When I turned around, I saw Liam with a half empty tub of chocolate ice cream sitting next to him as he watched something oh is tablet.

"LET ME IN ROSE!" Louis yelled as he banged on the door. Tears were threatening to fall as I stood facing Liam, waiting for him to notice me there.

He had his arms wrapped around me almost as soon as he looked up. I sobbed into his chest over Louis' rambling on how sorry he is.

"What happened?" Liam asked.

"I don't want to talk about it," I replied, as I pulled away and took my phone out to text Louis.

'I can't do this Louis' I texted. He went silent outside.

'Why not, what did I do?'

'There's a reason that I don't talk to anybody, because I can't trust them. You had my trust, and you tore it to pieces. What do you expect me to do when another pretty girl comes along again and I suddenly don't exist?'

'Please don't do this Rose,' he replied, knowing that I was right.

'I already have. It's not like we've been dating for very long, it's just not going to work out'

He didn't reply, but I heard him shuffle back to his room, knowing that it was already over as soon as it started.

I looked up at Liam, who was just staring at me. Not out of sadness or pity, but more like he was just observing my features.

"So what are you watching?" I choked out.

"Urm, Iron Man. Would you like to join me?" Liam asked.

"Sure," I whispered, and we sat next to each other on the bed, under the covers, with half the tablet on each of our laps.

Liam rested his arm on my shoulder, and electricity shot though my body.

We sat there together, eating ice cream and watching Iron Man, despite my plead to watch a romantic movie, or "chick flick" as Liam calls it. It didn't really matter though, because I fell asleep near the end of the movie, safe in the warmth of Liam's arms.
