Birds of A Feather

It's been two years since the Titans saved the world from Raven's psychotic father; Trigon. Well, Raven had to leave and go back to Azarath for her mother. Her mother was married to new King of Azarath. And Raven, being her only child is the heir to the Azarath throne. She is now a Princess and her mother is unable to have anymore children (thanks to Trigon, of course). Raven is now 18, and she misses her friends deeply, hates the tedious politics of court, and can't stand the people of Azarath with all the looks of disdain she gets day in and day out. She has her heart set on leaving one day, but she loves her mother too much to leave her. So, what happens when an old friend and former flame shows up, missing her and wanting to take her home? Will she stay or will she go? What is there for her in a city that thinks of her as a monster, no matter her high standing in the society?

7. The Nightmare Returns

I blacked out. I know I did. I know because I could see Trigon in a pitch black his eyes pierced straight through my body and soul. I could feel his evilness penetrating my mind. He growled in fury and I was thrown across the room and I was crushed into the cold, unforgiving stone that surrounded us. I felt my life's essence pouring onto the cold barren floor and grimaced.

The smell of blood always gave me the Blood Rage. And I no longer am in charge of my body. My Rage took over and I was growling at my impudent father. I was angry, beyond angry. Livid. I felt my power flood my senses and the crushing blow I sent towards Trigon.

He staggered at the force of it and was shaken. It shouldn't have been possible. At least that's what HE thought. And he was wrong, dead wrong. I let out an unearthly battle cry and lunged at his falling body. I attacked, throwing everything I had into my powers. I summoned my rage and demons and I used the fear and anger to fuel myself and with tears streaming down my face, I made him fear for the second time o his life.

He was down for the count, but I wasn't done. He needed to learn a lesson. He wasn't allowed to come back. At all. Ever. He was gone. Dead. No more. And once again, I awoke from a nightmare of horrific proportions, only to find Daniel, Mother, and Robin staring down at me worriedly.

"Robin?" I asked

She was awake! Finally! She looked up at me and blinked. "Robin?" She questioned.

"Raven." I breathed her name. She came back to me. "What happened?" I asked at the same time as Daniel.

"Trigon." Was all she said. All she needed to say before I was crushing her in a hug. She had faced that monster again. Alone. Again.

"I'm so sorry, Raven." I heard Daniel say.

Raven looked up at him. And she bursted out in tears. Something I've never seen since she was a child during the Battle. Even her own mother was taken aback.

And then she was gone. Running...eerrr...FLYING away. And her entire outfit turned into the saddest form of blue I've ever seen in my life. She needed to be alone, I knew that. After years of living with her, I knew her better than I knew myself. But, apparently her mother didn't know this. Being as she flew after her daughter. And I mean, she floated up into the air and then FLEW like a bat out of HELL after her daughter. But, I suppose if Rae wanted anyone with or near her at the moment, it would indeed be her own mother.
