Birds of A Feather

It's been two years since the Titans saved the world from Raven's psychotic father; Trigon. Well, Raven had to leave and go back to Azarath for her mother. Her mother was married to new King of Azarath. And Raven, being her only child is the heir to the Azarath throne. She is now a Princess and her mother is unable to have anymore children (thanks to Trigon, of course). Raven is now 18, and she misses her friends deeply, hates the tedious politics of court, and can't stand the people of Azarath with all the looks of disdain she gets day in and day out. She has her heart set on leaving one day, but she loves her mother too much to leave her. So, what happens when an old friend and former flame shows up, missing her and wanting to take her home? Will she stay or will she go? What is there for her in a city that thinks of her as a monster, no matter her high standing in the society?

8. Love and Let Die

~*Raven*~

Daniel was alive. A freaking live. But that's not what was bothering me. No, it was the look in his eyes. It wasn't Daniel. Maybe at some point, it was. But now, after what they did to me and I did to him. He couldn't have survived that. I know that. The on person that could have possibly survived was Trigon. And I know that from experience.

Trigon was alive. Almost dead. But alive all the same. I know it. He's been hiding on his own hell, but now that I know what his stupid little ploy was, I can take care of myself.

I turned around and to fly back to Robin. Robin and Robin alone.

~*Robin*~

I left this Daniel person and went for a walk to clear my head. I knew that Raven would come back to me when she needed to and I wasn't worried.

I found the clearing that I watched her in and I breathed in deeply. This was wonderful. It reminded me of home. Of Gotham. Raven knows who I am beneath this mask. She knows my identity. Dick Grayson Wayne. My name. Myself.

I sat down next to her pond. And I just started to think. Think about life. About Raven. About her screaming Trigon's name. About leaving my dad for the Titans.

And through all that it mattered, Bruce was my dad. Batman was my dad. And I missed him. And Alfred. I missed his scones too. Mmmmmm.... Scones.

Then, a crash landing happened, and a beautiful bird fell from the sky. Wearing--of all things--bright bubbly hot pink. I had to do a double take. It couldn't be...

"Raven?"

"Hey, Robin...." I said awkwardly.

"Hey..."

"So, ummm... We have a problem."

"What is it?"

"First, WHY AM I WEARING BUBBLE FREAKING GUM HOT PINK?!?! Second, I need you to call in....THE BAT. And his friends."

Robin glared at me in shock. "Why?" he asked tersely.

"Because... Trigon is back. Has been hiding for two years. And I know who he is. He's going to pay for it."
