But when a cougar attacks Cora and she is saved by a siren named Tuari, they go through the challenges of the water curse together. Even though Cora and Tuari live together and they know each other quite well, does Cora know Tuari well enough? Is Tuari all she says she is? Will Cora ever put the pieces of the mysterious attacks together or will it lead to a place she doesnt want to go?

~Kota~

When Tuari left I turned to Cora, "Are you ok?" She had turned pale and hadn't blinked or moved a muscle since Tuari ran out the door. I got up and put my arms around her, "Cora?" She sniffled and started to cry again, I held her close and after she had calmed down a bit we headed upstairs to her room. Shat sat down on her bed and stared at the ground, "She's right," I raised an eyebrow, "About what?" She drew in a shaky breath, "I probably won't survive without her help," I shook my head and crossed the room and knelt down in front of her, "Yes you will, I am here and I will do all that I can to help you." She smiled a bit and hugged me, "I am so lucky to have you," I nodded, "I know" She laughed for a second and then started crying, I knew she was scared and I couldn't say or do anything at that moment to make her feel otherwise. So I got up and tucked her into bed, I knew that she was tired and needed sleep and when I was done I smiled because she looked like a little kid, "Kota, you know that she was wrong about what she said right?" I nodded. She sighed and nodded, I turned to leave but she stopped me, "Wait!" I turned and looked at her, neither of us saying anything for a long moment, "Can you stay with me? Please?" I smiled a little, "Ok but only for a little bit," She looked scared, "Please just stay till Im ok, I just need you right now." I nodded and layer onto of her covers beside her, "Of corse I will," I whispered and she closed her eyes, and after a few moments I closed mine falling into a sleep that felt like no one could wake me from.
