Spirit of Wolf and Water

Cora is a normal 17 year old girl, she has a barn, and has her friends who have her back. Her father died three years ago and her and her mother dont spend very much time together anymore. But when a cougar attacks Cora and she is saved by a siren named Tuari, they go through the challenges of the water curse together. Even though Cora and Tuari live together and they know each other quite well, does Cora know Tuari well enough? Is Tuari all she says she is? Will Cora ever put the pieces of the mysterious attacks together or will it lead to a place she doesnt want to go?

7. Kota

Cora just cried in my arms for a while in my doorway, I just kept her there till she settled down a bit. Then I took her up to my room to talk it out. I sat her down on my bed and I sat across from her with about a foot and a half distance between us, just enough to keep it friendly. Even though her eyes were red and her face was soaked from all the tears she was still so beautiful. "So tell me why your mom getting proposed is a bad thing?" She looked at me with more tears in her eyes, "Everything is going to change! No late nights with you, the horses will be sold, no early morning rides to the lake!" she started sobbing and I just embraced her and let her cry for a bit. When she stopped I let her stay in my arms and just said, "Not everything has to change ok?" she stayed quiet, "You can still have late nights with me, those never have to stop. Your horses will be fine, we will figure something out." she nodded slightly and then sat up to look at me, her very blue eyes staring right into mine, with our gazes locked everything seemed to just stop. She nodded slightly, "OK. Thanks Kota, you are the best" she kissed my cheek and then walked out the door to go home. I waited in my room till I saw her in her room. She waved me goodnight and my heart melted once she closed her blinds. Why did I have to love someone who is oblivious to all of it?
