Diminishing Hate, Growing Love (One Direction Fanfic)

CREDIT TO MY FRIEND EMILY for writing this introduction kinda into the story because I was having difficulties :P

And also this story is inspired by a fan fic called Hired For Styles written by one of my favorite authors, @fanficsforbabes. My story is a different take on being hired to date Harry so you all should check hers out!

Since the first day of school, Emma has been dreaming of attending a world ranked college. For twelve long years, she has poured her heart into her studies to insure her spot at Harvard College in Cambridge but one obstacle stands in the way. Her parents have no way to pay for such a prestigious college. Emma runs out of hope.
Just when she thinks all is lost, she finds herself outside a One Direction concert at her high school. Everything about them makes her seethe with hatred: how they flaunt their money, feed their egos, even simply doing what they're paid to do. Who would've guessed that just sitting against that lonesome brick wall would chang

22. Sweet, Miniature Bells

Sweet, Miniature Bells

-2 weeks after Valentine's Day-

"Listen. I want to take you out on a date. Okay? Like a serious date." Liam's eyes peered straight into mine, a serious look set on his face. I was taken aback, a little surprised from Liam's proposition.

How is that going to work out? We are followed by paps every second. And what would Harry think of it? No, Harry doesn't have any say in this. Whatever this is is between Liam and I. After all, we are just friends.

"I-I'd love to, Liam."

He let out a big sigh of relief after holding a breath that seemed like he was keeping in forever.

"But how are we going to go out without people seeing us, Liam? I can barely come to your house without people being suspicious." I voiced my concerns, not afraid to hold them back.

"I don't know, but we can! We can and we will!" Liam's face was lit up, happiness etched into every crevice of his face. The doubts washed away from my consciousness as Liam pulled me up off the couch and spun me around.

The pleats from the baby blue dress I wore whirled around my body, creating a perfect circle encompassing me.
Liam's laugh echoed sweetly in my ears along with my laugh as we spun each other in circles. Our hands gently held each others as I spun into his chest. Eventually our awkward spins evolved into tender dancing.

1-2-3, 1-2-3. Our feet followed the pattern of the Waltz, perfectly in sync. Liam hummed a sweet tune and we moved around his living room, our thoughts empty of what the world had on us.

Liam's capable hands gently caressed my body as he dipped me backwards, embracing me moments later. I spun into his chest once more, a little too harshly this time, causing him to lose his balance and tumble to the floor, me falling next to him moments later. We were collapsed in giggles, lying there on the clean, soft carpet of his house.

"You know what your laugh reminds me of?" Liam looked up at the ceiling while he motioned for me to guess.

"Hmm," I stroked my non existent goatee playfully. "A dying porpoise?" I jested.

He pushed my shoulder lightly, chuckling. "Bells. Sweet, miniature bells," I looked up at him, awe adorning my face. He noticed details about me and wasn't afraid to speak them, something nobody else really ever did.

"Plus the occasionally snort here and there..."

"Hey!!" I shouted playfully.
"Well, Liam. Let's do this."

8 hours later. 12:15 at night.

"Okay, so we will drive to the rink and go roller blading. Sound good?" His hushed words aroused an anxious, tingling feeling in my stomach, and set a smile on my face.

"Liam, we are still in your house; you don't have to whisper," I replied in the same hushed tone.

"I know but this just makes me so excited. I feel like James Bond getting to take his girl out secretly."

The way Liam's syllables formed "his girl" sent shivers through my body and down my spine. He called me his girl. I didn't even know we had gotten to that point. I mean I like hanging around him but I've never been one to jump into a relationship, or to want one at all really. I looked away from Liam's face to hide the blush settling across my cheeks, but was unsuccessful.

"Oh I mean, you're not like my girl my girl I mean... Just that..." Liam's eyebrows furrowed as he stumbled over words to find an excuse for his slip of tongue.

"It's okay Liam," I lightly placed my hand on his shoulder and looked up into his warm, brown eyes, laced with anxiety. "I don't mind. It's just that I didn't really know we had gotten to that point," I reassured him with a small smile on my face.

He exhaled a deep breath and pulled me to the dark, midnight blue car we planned to take. "All right," Liam said, "let's go."
I'm really really sorry guys that I didn't update last week. And also, I'm sorry that this was a filler and pretty short. Buttttt it's going to lead to a fairly big realization next chapter having to do with Emma.

Oh and who tried to get 5SOS tickets for the America tour and couldn't?! STUPID STUBHUB. I literally had a fight with my parents about letting me go to the concert and long story short they finally agreed. But when I tried to get tickets, I couldn't because StubHub bought all them. They were originally $35 and now stubhub is reselling them for like $150! This ridiculous! It pisses me off so much. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Comment or inbox me if you tried to get tickets and couldn't. I'd like to know :)

Love you guys forever :) xx Anyway, please comment, and maybe take like two seconds to click the little vote button below (on the app) or to the right if on the computer!
