3. The Perfect Date

I looked at myself one last time in the mirror. My black strapless dress was nearly suffocating me, my black high heels so high I can't walk two steps without falling, a bunch of makeup that looked somewhat trashy, my straight hair which was curled and as stiff as a rock from the hairspray, and my little diamond studs which looked okay.

Perfect right...?

It seems to me that I tried way to hard for this boy so he better appreciate it.

I heard knocking on my door, which gave me instant butterflies. I was nervous to open my door and stare at Dylan O'Brien's face again. I stumbled over to the door, fixed my hair one last time, and opened the door to a fine looking Dylan O'Brien.

"Well someone looks....."

"Trashy," I finished off Dylan's sentence.

"No. I was going to say beautiful," he said.

"Well I beat you to it," I huffed, as I nearly fell out of the door step.

"Those heels a little too high for you?" he asked me, as he grabbed on to my back helping me from falling.

"Just a little," I confessed.

"You can change your shoes you know," Dylan chuckled.

"Kay, I'll be right back then," I told him, as I rushed into my house.

I went into my closet, and found my black and white high top Converse, as I ripped my stupid heels off and quickly slipped on the Converse. I threw my heels into the closet, as I ran back to the door. I opened it quickly and saw Dylan there on his phone.

"Let's start this over," I said.

He nodded, as I shut the door again.

He knocked on the door, and I couldn't help but to smile.

I fixed my hair then opened the door again.

"Well someone looks beautiful," he said quickly, keeping me from cutting him off.

"Well thanks," I half smiled at him, as I shut the door behind me.

I stood next to Dylan, as we walked side by side to get to his car.

I quickly glanced over at Dylan to see what he was wearing. He was wearing a formal black t-shirt, nice blue jeans, and some Converse, really similar to mine but low cut. His hair was perfectly spiked at the top, and he smelled absolutely amazing.

"Do I look good?" Dylan laughed.

"No," I laughed back.

We got to his car, and Dylan politely opened the passenger door for me, as I smiled and entered the car. Dylan jogged over to his side and hopped into the driver's seat.

He turned the key, and the engine started as he sped out of the driveway. The radio was already on, and his car was freezing. I wonder why he keeps it so cold.

"Where are we going?" I asked him.

"A really nice steak house. You like steak houses?" he replied.

"Yeah I do," I answered.

"Good," he smiled, as he made a sharp turn onto the freeway.

"I need to ask you something," I breathed heavily.

Dylan quickly glanced over to me, looking concerned.

"S-sure," he sputtered.

I inhaled deeply before I asked him, I didn't know why I was so nervous.

"Are you f-famous?" I stuttered.

"DAMMIT!" he yelled angrily.

The car swerved nearly into a different lane, as many cars were honking at him.

"Dylan what's wrong with you?!" I exclaimed.

"I really didn't want you to know. You won't think of me the same," he sighed.

"Dylan, I'll always think your the same creep I met yesterday," I chuckled.

"What gave it away? Teen Wolf? The Internship? High Road? The new Maze Runner?" he asked me.

"I don't know. I never seen a movie with you I probably saw you on a trailer or something," I told him honestly.

"Really?" he asked with his face lighting up.

"Yes, now calm down big boy," I chuckled.

We walked into the restaurant, and it was very fancy and lots of people were in it.

"Wow, fancy place," I whispered to Dylan.

"Table for two?" a woman asked us.

"Yep," Dylan nodded.

"Okay follow me," she smiled, as we started to follow her.

Dylan was walking behind me, and I saw a lot of people staring at him and I, lots of people probably recognized him.

"Here you go," the lady told us, as we sat down across each other at a booth next to window.

The lady left, as Dylan and I fixed eyes on each other.

"Like it?" he asked.

"Like I said before. It sure is fancy," I chuckled.

"What drink do you want?" he asked me.

"Well I hope you know I'm not old enough to drink," I looked up at him.

"That's fine. Get something non-alcoholic then," he half smiled at me.

"What are you getting?" I asked him.

"Nothing too fancy. Just a beer," he answered.

"Um okay. I'll just have a Coke then," I told him.

He nodded, then started looking at all the steaks.

"All these steaks look awesome," he smiled.

It was so cute seeing him get excited over food. While he was looking through the menu my eyes were glued on him. He was actually really attractive and I didn't really realize how hot he was until now. His face was just generally really appealing, and his body type was muscular and tough. It seemed like he would make an awesome protective boyfriend.

Boyfriend? Charlotte what are you talking about? It's your first date with a guy you hardly even know.

But this boy I hardly even know, I think I'm falling for.

A waitress swung by our table and asked what we wanted to drink.

"I'll just have a Budweiser, and the lady will have a Coke," Dylan even ordered for me.

How sweet.

"Okay. Did you need more time for the food or are you set?" the waitress asked us.

"We're ready," Dylan told her.

I don't know what he's talking about because I didn't even look at the menu yet.

"I'll just have the classic New York, and the lady will have the T-Bone," Dylan ordered for me again.

"Awesome, what sides would you like with those?" she asked.

"Fries on both please," Dylan smiled.

"All right! And I'll take the menus out of the way for you," she said, collecting the menus, and walking away.

"You better like T-Bones and fries," Dylan laughed.

"You're lucky I do," I laughed back.

I looked down, and started strumming my finger tips on the table, as I felt Dylan's eyes still focused on me.

"Tell me about yourself Charlotte," he demanded, while smiling.

"Oh. Well um. I-I play volleyball," I stammered.

"That's all you're gonna tell me?" Dylan chuckled.

"I don't know what else to say," I said nervously.

"What age did you start becoming so beautiful?" he smiled brightly at me.

My face started turning hot, and my hands started trembling. That really made me blush.

I didn't know how to reply to that so luckily the waitress came by and gave us our drinks.

"Thanks," I mumbled to her, as she nodded and walked off again.

"You never answered my question," Dylan said still grinning.

"How do I respond to that?" I asked him.

Dylan started laughing and placed his hand on top of mine.

"You're so adorable," he laughed.

I smiled, and kept looking at his hand placed on top of my shaking sweaty hand.

"So how's your acting career going?" I asked him, as he took his hand off me.

"It's starting to take off," Dylan smiled.

"Well that's good. The Maze Runner is pretty big. It must be awesome to be in it," I said.

"Yeah it really is," Dylan was still smiling.

****

Dylan and I were talking the whole time and our food finally came.

"Yay finally," I smiled, as I started to cut my steak.

"It's about time isn't it?" Dylan laughed, as he ate a fry.

****

Dylan and I finished eating, as we exited the restaurant.

"Wow that food was great," I told him.

"Well good, I'm happy you liked it," he said as he swung his arm around me while we were walking to the car.

"Did you like it?" I asked him.

"Yeah it was good," he answered, as he opened the door for me again.

"Thank you kind sir," I laughed as I got into the car.

Dylan jogged to the other side as he hopped into the driver's seat, started it up and zoomed out of there.

"It's chilly outside," I said shivering.

"I know it is. You look sexy and all, but strapless? You know it's cold," Dylan chuckled.

"Well excuse meeee," I dragged out my word, jokingly.

****

"Well thanks Dylan. For tonight," I thanked him, as he pulled up into my driveway, as I opened my door.

"Here, let me walk you out," he offered, as he got out of the car as well.

I waited for Dylan as he walked beside me to my front door.

Once we got there I stood in front of my door, and turned around to face Dylan. The porch light was shining on us, as his eyes were set on my lips.

I think this is it. I think he is going to kiss me.
