With a Tight Grip

Abigail Lanie Adams was a shy, talented, 19 year old girl who didn't expect what she got the first year of college. Her roommate was a slut, her best friend was always traveling, and almost all of her free time was taken up by cheer. When something happens that causes her to quit cheer, she meets someone who makes her life a living hell and an amazing trip to heaven. Harry Styles comes around.

1. For The Love Of...

"Okay, Kayla. Can you please move over your bed up against the wall? I can't even fit my bed in here with yours like that," I said basically yelling over my roommate, Kayla's, music.

"Abigail will you please stop complaining? We got one of the nicest dorm rooms. I'll move my bed after I hang up these posters," she shouted back at me.

"Please stop calling me Abigail..." I asked with a red face.

"Okay, okay, 'LANIE'," Kayla added.

My name is Abigail Lanie Adams. I never liked to go by 'Abigail'. It always seemed just way too formal for me, like a famous ballet dancer or something. So I go by Lanie. It's more simple, kind of like me.

I moved to Southwark College mainly for my studies of writing and music. I joined the cheer squad, too, which was a pretty elite squad. I didn't think I could of made it, but my tumbling sets the bar over most of their standards.

It's the third day of first semester. My classes aren't every day, just Monday's, Tuesday's and Thursday's. Then Wednesday morning are 4 hour practices for cheer, and Sunday evenings are 2 hour practices for cheer. Not to mention cheer is a period for me, so i basically get practice every day, except Friday and Saturday.

I don't have a lot of extra time on my hands, so I don't have a lot of friends. No, I don't count Kayla as my "friend". She has probably shagged over 25 people in the last 6 months. Not that I've known her for more than a week, that's just the way she portrays herself to me.

I do have one friend I know I can count on, always. His name is Liam. Liam Payne. I've known him since grade school and we lived around the block from each other. I don't see him very much now because he's always traveling with his beautiful girlfriend, Danielle. Danielle was a pretty good friend of mine, until she thought I was all "in love" with Liam... which I never could be. People as close as Liam and I, just really shouldn't date.

I've never really had a real relationship and I've only kissed one boy. All of my so called "experience", which I basically have none of, makes the whole college party life kind of awkward. I don't like to sleep around... but I do like a drink every now and then. But that's not the point. The point is, I'm extra nervous for this year.

"Abiga...LANIE... you wouldn't mind if I had a few people over, would you? Just for a few drinks," asked Kayla with a huge, fake ass smile.

"I really don't care as long as they stay OUT of my stuff, Kayla. I have practice anyways."

I grabbed my bag, and walked out the door. When I got to the gym, I saw my new squad. The people I've only had practice with one other time. I'm pretty sure I only know like, 5 people's names... Ellery, my main base, Kennedy, my side base, Carter, my back base, the coach who's name was Shawn, and the back base of one of the other stunt groups, Blair. I always caught myself starring at Blair... He was tall, tan, and blue eyed.

He would always stare at me when I was in the air, not even paying attention to his own stunt.

The rest of my practice consisted of "FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT..." and jumps and jumps and more jumps. You can bet I felt like a noodle. It was a 10 minute walk back to my dorm from the gym and I was so sore. I never drive down here, it wastes gas. I saw a car speed past me headed the same direction as me. It was Blair. My mind could only wonder where he was going.

When I got back to my dorm, the place was still pretty neat.... but nobody was there. I figured Kayla and her friends had went out somewhere.
