With Love,

Earan Edwards; your 17 year old typical girl, had just moved back to her Texas small town from the Philippines to enter another journey, 'college life'. Her life honestly was a bit of a bumpy road; a long list of trial, let's just say. But suddenly, after her rough teen years, something lightens her. A weakness; A secret admirer. Extreme secret admirer. Months after the mystery , she realized she's possibly in love with this guy.. Not having a clue on who he is. Think about it, when it comes to the time where she finds out, what'll change?

10. New Things

Here I lay, wrapped in Josh's arms with noting but my favorite maroon Holister sleeping shorts and an orange v-neck t-shirt not to mention I'm braless. The warm covers shielded everything but our heads.

How'd I get that way you wonder? Let's rewind.

Under the lights, moving myself in all sorts of directions, I was just letting go of every single thing.
A waiter came around with a tray of beer.

"I think we could use some."
Sarah said to me, taking a couple bottles.

"Dude, let's go try all the flavored beers."
I let out in a really odd way, as if I could possibly already be wasted.
I tugged Sarah's hand, dragging us away from the boys and down to the bar.

The boys didn't seem to notice our escape.
We sat down, getting drink after drink.
Eventually the boys had found us, but we were dead-knocked out.

"I think we should really take her home." Dylan suggested to Josh, worried about us girls because we've never in our lives been drunk.
Yes. You read it right, drunk.
I didn't think we'd do it, but we got drunk as hell. I guess we got a little carried away with the flavored beer and tried all the flavors, then passed out then and there. Well, just me. Sarah was still okay.
Josh nodded in agreement, carrying me, bridal style outside.

I woke up when we finally reached home.
I attempted to walk up the stairs, but tripped and fell.
Josh picked me up and carried me the rest of the way to my room and laid me down on my bed, kissing my forehead and whispering goodnight.
Dylan changed my clothes, putting me in my favorite set of pajamas.
After he changed my shirt, he unhooked my bra to prevent me getting breast cancer.
His mom is a doctor, she knows al and we were that close and best friends at that, it didn't matter to us.
He has closed the lights, leaving me alone and going to his room.
I realized I was all alone, so I went to his room.
They were surprised to see me when I barged in, they thought I was asleep already.
I didn't say a word, I climbed into Josh's bed and pulled his covers over me and closed my eyes to sleep.

The next day, the first thing in my sight was Sarah face down on the floor, bottom up on the bed. It looked like Dylan had pushed her off in his sleep. I laughed for a minute at them and then checked the digital clock on Josh's nightstand.
3:16 pm?
We spent half of our day on sleeping? No! This is not good. Nope, not at all.
I made an attempt when I finally realized something wasn't right.
Well for starters, my clothes were changed and I had Josh spooning me.

"AHHH!"
I squealed, which really seemed to wake everyone up slowly.

"What?"
Josh released me, scratching his head.

"What's going on guys?!"
Sarah, Dylan and Josh all stared at each other.

"You must not remember."
Sarah started.

"Are you kidding me right now?!"
I was so angry. How in the world could I forget everything?!

"Uh.. You got pretty fucked up."
Dylan said in his scratchy morning voice.

"Please tell me I'm still a virgin?"
I whined.

"Don't worry, of course you are."
Josh was the one to answer my question.
Why him out of all three of them?

"Knowing you, I'm not so sure."
I got up and ran out to the bathroom, turning on the shower faucets.
I brushed my teeth as I waited for the water to become burning, I need the raging smell of alcohol out of my mouth.

After I got out of the shower, I changed into some sweat-shorts and a tshirt and went out to check for the newspaper;
I'm looking to see if anyone's selling any gently used cars.
When I opened the mailbox, I was shocked to see another letter.
Not as much as the first time, but I'm curious on what this guy has to say.
I ran up to my room and locked it so none of the rest would find out about my little secret.
I tear open the envelope,

"Dear you,

I never knew you were a party animal? I have to say, you looked stunning last night.
Yes, I was at Jenna's party. Didn't notice me? That's okay, I wanted the hundreds of people to hide me away from you anyways.
If only you knew how badly I wanted to be with you, I longed for just a lock of gazes.
I noticed you drank a bit, or a bit too much.
Get well from that hangover, alright? Muwah!

With Love,
X"

"What the hell?!"
I exclaimed to myself.
I paraded over to my underwear drawer and hid it with the last one I received.
I know an underwear drawer isn't exactly the nicest place to put something, but it's the best way to keep it from the most nosey people.

I do have to wonder though, who is this guy?
Who does he think he is?
Is he stalking me?
What the fuck!
This all makes no sense to me, I don't know what he's up to or what he wants.
Please tell me he doesn't want to rape me, kidnap me or kill me!
Should I call the police?
They probably wouldn't be able to trace him anyways, there's no name or address.
Though, this guy seems nice. A little creepy, but nice.
I wonder if he's hot?
Sorry, but I'm into hot dudes.
He seems like the man of few words, maybe he's shy.
I wonder how old he is, what he does, where is he, all these random questions.
Especially how he's getting into my mailbox and how he knows where I'm living.
I have so many questions for him, but he can't answer them.

I decided to shake everything off and eat.
Man, was I hungry or what?
I grabbed around five packages of sliced gala apples and a huge container of caramel sauce from the fridge and headed back to my room.
I spent the hours eating away and having a Pretty Little Liars marathon.
Finally Dylan had came into my room after ages of being alone.

"What's up?"
He sat at the edge of my bed.

"You can clearly see."
I shoved one dipped apple into my mouth.

The old phone ringtone of my iPhone went off, who would be calling me?
Usually, no one calls me. Seriously, no one.

"Jenna?"
I was confused, how'd her number get into my phone?

"Yeah, Josh's sister."

"I know that!"
I answered Dylan while answering my phone.

"Hello?"

"Earan! Doll, how are you? Josh said you've gotten a bit of a hangover?"

"Yeah, I kinda forgot some stuff and I have this throbbing headache."

"Well, I cooked up some tomato soup. I'll bring you some and a package of Ritz, sound good?"

"No, you really don't have to."
I felt bad, I didn't want her to do anything for me.
I'm also still not sure about her, she could be some evil bitch and maybe put some stuff in the food to fuck me up even more.

"It's really okay for me, anything to help you feel better. See ya in a while!"
She hung up, sounding quite delighted.

"Look, I know you're thinking Jenna's probably just like Josh. If you are, you're way off. They're nothing alike. Sure Jenna likes to drink and party some, but she's not into screwing guys and being an asshole to almost everyone who isn't like her. Jenna's kind to everyone, no matter who they are. And because Josh introduced you to her last night makes her think you're a special one, Josh has never introduced a girl to his family in his entire life."

"This has all got to be a joke."
Dylan didn't look to be joking though.
"I'm serious. Josh and I have been buds almost as long as we have, I know everything about him and his life."

"While we're waiting for Jenna, why don't you tell me? You seemed to inform him on my life, I want a share of his."

"I don't know if you remember him in elementary and intermediate school, but he was always the one bullied other than you.
That's why in junior high and high school, he became a total douchebag to everyone he knew, except me.
His parents are always working,
they never had much time for him. There was always Jenna though. Jenna's just an extremely kind and caring person, she loved her brother no matter what. She would always be the one to go to his games, school activities or whatever events he had going on.
Josh was a carbon copy of Jenna until people started treating him like shit.
It's only him, Jenna and his parents.
His older brother, Jason, ran away, they don't really know where he is or what happened.
His parents keep saying he's already married with children down in Arizona, but Josh won't believe it until he sees it himself.
He's only popular because he changed himself completely. He always tells me that's not the way he wants to be.
That's why he wants you so bad, to help change him back. He's trying his best, but it's become his life style, it's challenging.
You see, look at the big 'O' on your face."

It was true, I had a ginormous 'O' on my face.

Just as Dylan finished, the doorbell rang.
"Must be Jenna, let's go."
Dylan said, jumping off my bed before I.
We ran quickly down the stairs to answer the door.

"Hey doll!"
Jenna walked right in and hugged me, still having a paper bag in her arm that must be with the stuff she said she'd bring.

"Hello."
I shyly greeted her.

She noticed our living room, dragging me to it, Dylan following.
Jenna made her self at home on our sofa, this girl was nowhere near to shy.
She was on my left as Dylan was on my right. Great, I'm the lump in the middle.

"So what's up guys?"
She asked, getting the stuff out of the bag and placing it on the table in front of us.
"I brought you the tomato soup, the Ritz and raspberry iced tea, Josh mentioned you have a thing for tea. Isn't he so sweet, he knows all your favorite things."

I knew that's probably why she was bringing the tomato soup and Ritz, those are my "feel better" foods when I'm not feeling well.
"Thanks."
I said to her as she gave me the container if soup, slurping it in.

"Sooo ... can you tell me about yourself?"
I set the bowl down, though I was scared to say anything.
"C'mon, don't be shy."
She warmly smiled.
Would it be a good idea to tell her anything?
I turned to Dylan, he nodded for me to go on.

"Um.. I'm Earan. I'm 17 years old.
I'm kind of shy until I get comfortable with you, I'm rather simple and sometimes plain.
I'm not too outgoing.
I don't do drugs and I'm not a complete alcoholic.
I have an obsession with music and all musical things.
I waste a lot of my time on the Internet or just my phone if I'm not studying. I have 2 best friends. One being Dylan and the other,  his girlfriend, Sarah.
Um..
My parents died, my mom in 2011 and my dad just a few months ago.
I have one brother, Vincent. He's got autism.
Um...
I'm not under the category of "filthy stinkin' rich".
Um..
I'm a high school graduate, soon to be a freshman at Stanford University.
And um.. I'll be taking tourism, I want to travel.
I don't really know what else you want to know, but that's all I can think of to say."

"Wow, you're an interesting topic."
She seemed surprised for some reason. I wonder what made her that way.

"What about my brother, Josh? What do you think about him?
I know his personality and attitude isn't exactly what a girl pictures as her dream boy, but can you say anything about him?"

"Well, yeah.
Honestly, he seems kind. I've only known the jerk him, I just need to give things time and observe him before I can say another thing."

"What the hell?! He always said you were bitchy when it came to describing him. You're so patient, waiting to see who he really is deep inside."
She grabbed my hand, squeezing it.

"Has anyone told you you're like a Barbie?"
I spatted out.

"Wait, elaborate please."
I think she couldn't tell if I was asking in a good or bad way.

"I mean, you're drop dead gorgeous! I wasn't saying you're like, plastic."
I explained, I didn't want her to end up hating me.

"I'm not going to brag, but yes people have said that. Thank you though, you're beautiful yourself."

"Are you kidding me?
I'm not as tall and thin as you are!"

"It doesn't matter doll, you're still beautiful. Especially your heart, it must be pure gold."
That made me feel warm inside.
I think this girl could be jotted on my list of best friends.

"Thanks."
I smiled at her, I didn't know what else to do or say.

"You have a nice smile too.
I realized,
no wonder Josh is madly in love with you, I definitely understand why now."

"He's told you?"
I was shocked.

"He's told me everything about you.
Honestly, I've never seen my brother this goo-goo over a girl before.
I always thought he's end up with that stupid bitch, Alexis Peters.
God do I dislike her.
Our parents always wanted them to be together, but Josh didn't have a thing for her. He just banged her here as there, but he really couldn't stand her always whining and complaining about shit.
He didn't give too much of a description of you, he just said you're like no other.
I can tell, he's really into you."

"Yeah, I know. I'm just waiting.
I will put him through the test to see if he's really worthy of me.
I don't wanna fall too quickly again."

"What do you mean?"
She questioned.

"Wait, let me grab the Kleenex box!"
Dylan hollered, getting up.

"When I was around 14, I had a boyfriend.
I was so in love with him, and I thought I was the same for him.
But I guess not since he cheated on me about three times and tried to have sex with me.
That's why..
I'm sorry I can't love your brother quite yet."
I began to tear up, a streak of salty water rolled down my face.

"Shh, it's okay."
She leaned towards me for a hug.
I just stayed still, letting her embrace me.
"Don't worry, someone will secure your gold."

"Thanks."
Was all I could say.

"Hey, you wanna hang out tonight? Without getting drunk and all of that mess."

"I have a problem with that."
I can't leave without Sarah, she'd get pissed off!
"Can Sarah join?"
I shyly asked, hoping for a good answer.

"Of course she can! Girls night out!"
She squealed.
"Tonight at Shakey's. Just as simple as that."
Jenna stood up, walking to the front door.

"Be ready at 8, I'll pick you up! Remember, just be casual. Okay?"
She slammed the door, not letting me say anything.

"Sarah!!"
I called from down stairs.
She came quick, standing on the edge of the top step.

"What?"

"We have a 'girls night out' tonight with Josh's sister!"
I yelled.

"What? Why?"

"I don't know, just because I agreed to it. It's okay, she's extremely nice. Nicer than we are anyway."

She didn't say anything for a while.
"Alright. At least I won't have to cook tonight."
She pushed it off.

"Hey! What about me and Josh?! We'll get hungry!"

Sarah laughed and walked away.

"What time is it?"
I asked Dylan.

"Around 5. Don't even tell me, you're gonna spend three hours getting ready? You don't need to, you're beautiful. You can throw on anything and look fine, without makeup or perfect hair. Alright?"

I ruffled his hair,
"This is why I love you, bestie. But I'm still gonna spend an hour picking my outfit."

He chucked.
"Typical you."

We got up and headed to my bedroom.
"Hey guys."
Sarah greeted, she was already in the closet searching for something to wear.

"I guess I can leave you two alone then."
Dylan walked out from our room.
I went in with Sarah,
"What are you planning to wear?"
She kept looking, not paying attention for a while.

"Just something simple .. Like this."
She had her outfit piled in her palm.
A light teal blouse that had a gold sequenced heart on it, faded baby blue jeans and gold sandals.

"Love it! Now go get dressed while I dive through the sea."

She got up, going to the bathroom,
"Have fun!"

Man, I do not know what I'll wear tonight.
I spotted a pair of white floral jeans. I wore them, tucking in a white tank top and using a light denim 3/4th button up to put over me, leaving the buttons undone. I paired them with a brownish-grey set of wedges.
Casual, yet cute. Just what I was going for.
I let my hair embrace it's natural waves, not doing anything to it but brushing out the tangles.
I used just a hint of mascara, unlike Sarah who just used powder to prevent an oily face.

 "Lip balm."
I shot out my hand for her to give me some.
"Awh! My favorite one too, the strawberry scented!"
I put a whole bunch of it on, sticking it in the brown sling bag I had at my side.

It was already 7:03 by the time we finished getting ready.
Thankfully, Jenna texted me saying she would be around fifteen to twenty minutes early.
We began to head downstairs when Dylan called us.

"Yeah?"
Sarah asked.

"Josh and I will be going out with some of his friends from here tonight, just wanted to let you know."

We could care less, we wouldn't be there anyways.
"Just be sure you have and won't lose the spare key!"
I thunked him in the head, remembering the time Dylan and I snuck out to go to Sonic late at night, then he forgot the spare key and we had to climb through the window of the bathroom.
"Okay, okay!"

We went downstairs and watched Glee while waiting.
After we killed some time, I heard a honk from outside.
I switched off the tv as Sarah opened the door.
Sarah waited for me there and then we soon stepped into her blue Mini Cooper. I sat in the front and Sarah in the middle backseat.
She turned up the song that had been playing, Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop".
We jammed out to the radio until we reached the restaurant.

The three of us walked in and for assisted to a table, we ordered a jug of Sprite, a bucket of fries and a extra large supreme pizza.
As we were eating the pizza, Jena asked,
"You guys feel like bowling tonight?"
She was really into that?

"You like to bowl?"
Sarah asked.

"Yeah. You wanna go?"
Jenna asked again.

"Uh.. Sure!"
I agreed. "I'd never been bowling before, I wanna try it out."

Jenna and Sarah spoke in sync,
"Seriously?!

I laughed, "Yes! Seriously!"

"Then we HAVE to go! This'll be great!"
Jenna clapped her hands.

We finished the meal, at last.
We got into her car again and drove to the bowling ally.

*2 hours later*

"This was really nice, thanks for your time tonight Jenna."
Sarah said to her as she slammed the car door.

Jenna rolled down her shotgun window,
"Anytime! I'm always willing to go out with new people. I'll call you guys up when I'm not busy. See you around!"
She then drove off our territory.

I noticed there were still lights on inside our condo.
I unlocked the door to find the two boys playing beer pong and eating  Hot Pockets.

"I thoughts you guys were going out tonight?"
I folded my arms at my chest, questioning them.

"Too lazy, right?"
Sarah cocked an eyebrow at them, chuckling.

"Said it right!"
Dylan spoke with a mouth full of Hot Pocket.

"Goodnight guys."
Sarah and I marched up the stairs to our room.

"You see? I told you Jenna is overly kind!"
I said to Sarah.

"I know right? I totally though she'd be similar to Josh."

We entered our room.
I changed into my mint green-white splatter painted Victoria Secret sweatshirt and light pink sweatpants, then totally crashed on my bed.

I woke up the next morning around 8, everyone else seemed to be asleep.
I snuck out to see if there was another letter.
There was, just as I predicted.
I took it and the newspaper out, running back inside. I slowly ran up the stairs to the top floor, making way to the balcony. No one would find me here.
I don't know why I was so excited to read what this guy was going to say, but I was.

"Dear you,

Have I ever mentioned how cute you look in bowling shoes?
In case not, you look cute in bowling shoes.
That outfit you had on made you seem so girly, I like it.
I thought it was funny that you got gum stuck to the bottom of your wedges at the parking lot before you went home. It seemed like you had a real nice time cleaning that up, right?
It was weird seeing you there. I didn't know you were into bowling at all.
Would you like to know the best part of my night?
Seeing you suck at knocking down all the pins.
You're quite something, now aren't you?
Don't answer that, I have the answer.
And that is that you are quite something.
If only you knew how much I really want to gaze into your eyes and say that.

With love,
X"

What!? He saw me?
Well, there were tons of people there, random people at that. He was anyone in that crowd.
I can't believe he saw how bad I was, and the gum thing. That was SO embarrassing.
I don't know how on Earth he thought I looked "cute" in bowling shoes! Those things made me look like a clown, they were hideous.
He's such a creep, gosh.

I wonder how long he'll keep this up.
