With Love,

Earan Edwards; your 17 year old typical girl, had just moved back to her Texas small town from the Philippines to enter another journey, 'college life'. Her life honestly was a bit of a bumpy road; a long list of trial, let's just say. But suddenly, after her rough teen years, something lightens her. A weakness; A secret admirer. Extreme secret admirer. Months after the mystery , she realized she's possibly in love with this guy.. Not having a clue on who he is. Think about it, when it comes to the time where she finds out, what'll change?

6. Moments

The good ol' sun rays woke me up this morning, their shine in my eye wasn't too pleasing though.

I stretch in the small space I have.

"Earan, you're awake!!"
Sarah shouted in my ears.

I ring my index finger in my left ear, I felt that she must've broken my eardrum.

"What the hell dude?! Chill!"
I groaned.

"We're almost there! I can't contain my excitement any longer!"

"What?! No way?!"

"Only one more hour!"
She squealed.

"Ugh. I don't wanna unpack!"
Dylan complained.

"What are you bitching about? You're probably just going to beg us to unpack all your crap anyways."
Dylan was my best friend, clearly I knew him well enough.

My eyelids felt heavy, trying to fight the urge of falling back to sleep.

"Guys, we seriously need to kill time right now!"
Sarah was a little too excited, I think.

I've never seen her act in such manner before.

"I don't know about you guys, but I need to eat right now."

"Earan, you eat like a pregnant woman.
Are you so sure there's nothing up your sleeves?"
Dylan joked.

Ed was the silent type.
Although he seemed to know me well enough, only being the truck driver.
He pulled into a small diner.

"Woo hoo!"
I jumped right out of the truck.

I paused, taking a whiff of the air.

The aroma was so pristine.

It took me back to the time where either my mother or father would cook up breakfast on weekend mornings.

The scent of bacon, eggs and hashbrowns caused me to cry.

I noticed through my blurry eyes, people began to stare at me awkwardly.

"God, my hair looks li-
Earan? Earan?!"
I stood stiff as Sarah quickly came to hug me, Dylan joining in afterwards.

"What is it?"
I could hear them, but if I say anything, I know it would make me cry even more.

"It.. M-m-makes me.."
I choaked up.

I climbed back into the truck, coiled up and continued to have my crying session.

Sarah and Dylan stood where I left them for a while, just talking.

I guess they're about me, but I couldn't hear them due to my sobbing.

I finally calmed myself down after 10 minutes.

I thought about Josh.
How he said he knew my background, and also how he said to call when I'm there.

I took out my phone, scrolling to his contact.

I wait for him to pick up.
Just as I was about to hang up from being impatient, he answered.

My voice was a bit stuffy.

"Earan? Are you alright? What's up?"

"I'm not gonna lie, I'm not okay."

"Do you feel like talking about it?"

"Not at this exact moment, I just wanted to call.
I just needed someone to talk to. Anyways, changing the topic. Are you already at our place?"

"Yeah, I got here early this morning.
All the furniture and appliances are already in.

We just have to adjust our own personal things in, then we're all good to go."

"We'll be there in about an hour, I'll talk to you then."
I hung up.

Even though I did want to pour myself out to Josh, I didn't want to start crying all over again.

I just sat there, taking deep breaths.

Another 15 minutes later, Ed, Sarah and Dylan came back.

As Ed started the truck and Dylan and Sarah got comfy and situated in their seats, they handed me take out.
"Thank god, I'm starving!"

I went back to my old self.

My hunger didn't seem to mind the smell or flashback, but it sure had an impact on the taste.

I did as well.

I began to tear up again.
One tear steamed itself down my cheek.

I simply just wiped it away and began scorching the food.

One silent hour passed by, however I wasn't so sure on why we were so quiet.

"Josh is already there."
I let out something to tear the muteness.

No words slipped out their mouths.

I turned around to find them dead asleep.

"Awh c'mon!"
I whined.

"Well looky there!" Ed warmly smiled.

I turned back to my front.

"Wha- ahhhhhhhhhh!"
I squeaked, waking up the two.

"Dude, what's wrong with you?"
Sarah squinted her eyes and scratched her head, trying to fix her hair.

"Sarah, what happened to your joy from earlier?! We're here!"

She sprang up right away.

"Ed, how much longer?! I'm dying!"
She just turned dramatic.

"Hold your horses, we'll be there in 10..

"Stop doing this to me!"
Sarah growled.

"Dylan.. Dylan!"
She shook him back and forth.

"3.. 2..
Here we are!"
Ed said as we drove up to the place.

God, was it beautiful.

Ed parked and we all jumped out.

I got out my phone, making a call to Dylan's mom.

"Hey sweetie! How are ya'?"
She answered.

"I'm fine. We're all great. But, I have one question."

"Ya sure, what is it?"

"Are you sure this is a condo? It's looks like the gates of heaven."
I said, looking all around.

"You're already there? Great! Run along now, go check it out. I'll call later. Alright?"

"Okay, bye ma'."
I hung up, still staring at the place infront of me.

Sarah, Dylan and Ed had already been getting out boxes, marching in and out of the house.

Josh steps out, heading towards me.
I smiled to him, wrapping my cardigan around myself as he was on his way.

When he gets to me, he places one hand on my shoulders, greeting me.
"Hey. How was the trip?"
He takes his hand off of me.

"Tiring, crazy, elongating."

"Ha, we can talk about it later. Let's get out some boxed and begin unpacking."

"Ugh.. The only thing I dread."

"You're just like Dylan!"
He teased.

"Hey, what can I say? We are best friends."

I take a couple boxes, stacking them on top of another, struggling to reach the front door.

Josh got inside before I did, then came to help me with the three boxes I carried in my arms.

Josh set down the boxes, standing at the doorway.

I just gazed at the beautiful condo, with the plus of the palm tree surroundings that reminded me of the Philippines.

"What are you waiting for? Come on in!"

I ran to him, then slowly entered.

Everything was so ravishing, so sparkely clean, I couldn't believe this was it.

There were a few workers in, finishing the touches of the water and electric and also the painting of the bedrooms.

"I'll tour you around, I've already finished."
He led me upstairs.

The two bedroom doors were wide open, the smell of a freshly painted wall penetrated straight into my nostrils.

I poked my head through the first door on the left, which must've been mine and Sarah's room.

It was painted a neon purple, with huge beige tiles and black curtains, tied nicely with white ribbon.

Two white metal day-beds are against the walls and a huge black dresser in between that had a small 20 inch tv and DVD player on top;

One bed, next to the window. It was set with white comforters, having black polka dots. Two pillows, one black and one white. The sheets under we're black.

"That one must be Sarah's."
I pointed to the bed.

The second was on the opposite side, up against the corner.

Black-striped comforters, white sheets, same pillows as Sarah's.
I knew it was mine.

I step in, taking a closer look at things.
Our whole room was a black and white theme, aside from the wall color.

Then I discovered the bathroom, built in to the bedroom.

It was all white, except for the black rug.

The mirror has lights as a frame, just as a celebrity's; with built in drawers for our girly needs.

There was a walk-in shower with blurred glass and the toilet, of course.

I walked out from there, learning about another door I didn't notice.

I pop it open, finding out it's a huge walk in closet, it had a small wardrobe inside.

I step out.

I got out my phone once again to call Dylan's mom.

As the phone rang, I became more excited.

I couldn't hold myself and my happiness together for much longer.

She answered me.

"You're the absolute best!"

"I'm guessing you've seen your room?"

"Yes! It's amazing! I love it! I love you! Thank you so much!"

"You know, your mom would've love to help me pick out stuff for you and send you to college.

All she ever wanted was that you finish your college education and become successful, I'm glad you're so much like her.

Sweet, caring and determined. I love you too sweetie.

Now get off the phone before I start to cry! Anyways, you need to unpack!"
She hung up.

I spun around, smiling.

I realized Josh was gone.
But he soon came up behind me, placing his hands on my shoulders, keeping one arm around me.

He had what looked to be a cup of milk tea in one hand, my favorite.

I wonder how he knew?

"Let's just relax for a while." He handed the cup to me.

We made out way down the stairs, sitting on the tan leather sofa in the living room.

He put his arm around me again and I rested my head on his shoulder.

It was a silent relaxation, but lovely.

I just gulped the tea and embraced the new place, randomly feeling myself as royalty.
