After 18 Years

Darcy Tanner ran away from home on her 18th birthday, in search of her father. A little over 18 years before, her mother- Ariel- found out that she was pregnant with Harry Styles' child. She fled to America, scared to end the career that he enjoyed so much. Now, when Darcy forces Harry and Ariel to reunite will they fall back into love? 14. Healing-Part 2

Harry and I walked out the hospital doors, both mentally preparing ourselves. We were surrounded by people in an instant. Harry took my hand in his, and gave it a little squeeze of encouragement. Questions were thrown at us. Cameras and microphones were shoved in our faces.

'Harry! Harry! What happened! How did you hurt yourself? Did she have anything to do with it? Is it her fault? Why has your old fiance finally come back? Ariel! Why did you leave? Why did you decide to come back, 18 years later?'

I couldn't even tell which question came from which mouth. There were more than just paps and reporters here... I heard some insults towards me. Probably from old fan's... I spotted the cab and pulled lightly on Harry's arm. He saw it then too. We weaved our way through the crowd, that only existed in a circle around us. We smiled lightly for the cameras, but we didn't talk to anyone. Anything we said, can and will be used against us.

We reached the cab after what felt like ages. Harry opened the back door for me, then got in quickly after I did. He gave the cab driver his address, then off we were.

“So, about that kiss.” Harry smirked turning to me.

“What about it?” I asked.

“I know you, Ariel. And you told me I had to work for it. There had to have been a reason that you kissed me there and then, because I didn't have to do anything for it. I'm wondering, what that reason was?” He questioned.

“You're too smart. You still know me almost better than I know me...” I huffed a small laugh.

“Don't even pretend that you don't know me better than I know myself.” He smiled, he was still waiting for my answer. I sighed.

“You know that nurse?” I asked.

“There were many nurses...” He answered.

“The one that did your last checkup " I added. He nodded, remembering now.

"Well, that sheet of paper had her number on it, and she flirted with you a few times...” I explained, staring at my hands in my lap.

“Wait. Why would that be a reason...” He trailed off. He couldn't seriously be confused right now...

“She was watching when I kissed you...” I said, ashamed sounding. Harry said nothing. I looked up briefly to see his expression. He had one of the biggest grins on his face I've ever seen.

“You kissed me, because of jealousy?” He asked.

“Not one of my proudest moments...” I looked down at my hands again. Harry put his finger under my chin and lifted my face to look at him.

“I love that you got jealous when some nurse flirted with me.” He said, his smile getting wider.

“You didn't even notice... Did you?” I asked.

“Not at all.” He laughed. I felt ridiculous.

“So, that kiss didn't count?” He asked.

“I guess not.” I said.

“That's okay. That one just gave me motivation to work for the next one.” He said as we arrived at his place. I smiled, blushing. Darcy was right, there were just as many people here as there were at the hospital.

“Thanks man.” Harry said, paying the cabbie.

“Good luck.” He answered. Harry chuckled. We got out of the cab, holding hands again, so that we didn't lose each other in the crowd. We got through the gate and into the house soon enough. I was glad for the gate, because there was still no front door.

"How the hell did he get past my gate?" I heard Harry mumble, quiet enough that it seemed like I wasn't supposed to hear it. Darcy was waiting in the living room.

“You guys made it!” She exclaimed, staying where the people outside couldn't see her.

“So when do you wanna get the door fixed?” Harry asked.

“As soon as possible would probably be good...” I answered.

“Well, how many crazy exes do you have that are gonna come and break it down again?” He grinned.

“Only 3.” I smirked.

“3! My guess was at least 7!” He laughed. I laughed too, realizing again that Darcy was watching us in silence, smiling. Except this time, she wasn't alone. Niall, Liam, Louis, and Zayn watched with her, a sea of grins. Harry noticed at the same time I did...
