James cares for his country. But he worries about Isobel and that stirred something inside of him which could stir something bigger in the country.

(It is set in the olden days incase that isn't clear in my writing haha, not quite sure what year, but somewhere waaaaay far back like in the 1400s :D)

10. 10.

I have been lying here for hours and I think it must be around two in the morning. I can't sleep because now the pain is more apparent. For some reason, James stirs and frowns.

"Isobel? Are you alright?" he murmurs sleepily.

"Mhm." I nod, moving in closer to him. He holds me tighter. "It hurts a little bit."

"I can't even see your natural skin if I look there." he points out. "It must hurt more than a little bit."

I smile, closing my eyes and resting my head on his chest. He circles his thumb on my back soothingly.  "I'll be fine."

"You will be, but you're not at the moment, so stay here for as long as you want." he smiles, kissing me. I laugh.

"I have to go home tomorrow." I murmur. "I can't leave them for too long."

"Your friend, Elijah has it under control-"

"He might not." I say. "What if he's hurt too? I can't just stay here with you forever-"

"I wish you could." he smiles. "Just imagine it. Just imagine this happening everyday. Just imagine living here with me."

"See." I begin, raising my eyebrows. "To you that means endless walks in the gardens, nights in each other's arms. To me, that means leaving my family."

"They could live here too."

I nod and we go back to silence for a little while. It's a nice, peaceful silence that doesn't need to be filled. After a while, I get thinking. How bad is this? The prince is sleeping with some common girl (not in that way) and is having some secret affair with her. I ask James about it and he just shrugs.

"Then we keep it quiet." he says.
