6. Chapter 5

The whole car ride was dead silent. Audrey was very uncomfortable around Justin because he was nice to her and that was a first…from anyone. That's what makes her awkward whenever they touched, talked, or even stared. She doesn't know how to take the feeling.

Justin just was thinking hard as he drove. Something about Audrey made him want to know more about her. Why she was so scared to come in contact with him? He knew that she was hurt in some way. Justin may be a lot of things but an idiot wasn't one of them. He was good at reading in between the lines. He just wanted know who or what was hurting her.

"Stop. Here is good." Audrey finally spoke up after the awkward drive.

Justin haled the car to a stop. He glanced over at Audrey. He just wanted to know what makes her act like she does.

Audrey didn't notice Justin's staring. Her mind was too focused on the car in her driveway. She took a shaky breath before stepping out of the car and started walking.

Justin watched her till she went inside her house before driving a little closer. Of course with the headlights off so no one would noticed.

He parked close to the house but not to close, right across from a window where he saw Audrey and some lady talking.

"What the fuck are you so late for?" Aunt Sara spat at Audrey as she walked through the door.
"I had to work the night shift tonight." Audrey answered walking into the room a little more.

Aunt Sara laughed.
"Had to work the night shift my ass." She said before Audrey felt fist colliding with her jaw. The pain should have been unbearable but for Audrey it was a regular Wednesday; even though she left like should couldn't open her mouth on that side.

In the car Justin's jaw dropped.
"What the fuck?!" He heard himself whisper. He didn't understand what was going on. He could have sworn he saw that lady laugh at something Audrey said not a second ago.

"Tell the truth you little shit!" she yelled at Audrey then brought her foot up to Audrey's stomach. If the punch to the face wasn't bad enough, Audrey had to catch her normal breathing pattern after falling to the floor coughing.

"I told you the truth." She coughed clutching her stomach. She heard the clicking of cheap heels coming her way.

"Audrey you need to stop lying to me. Then we wouldn't have to go through this." Aunt Sara said sweetly before that annoying evil laugh came out.

After that let's just say, Aunt Sara was playing soccer with Audrey's ribs for a good five minutes until she remembered Earl upstairs in her room.

Audrey was on the ground spitting out blood every time she coughed. This was by far the worst Aunt Sara had done to her in awhile. Audrey couldn't even move.

Justin saw her laying there for awhile after Aunt Sara just left.
"Shit. Shit. Shit." He repeated as he thought she wasn't going to make it.

Being the person that he is, he ran up to the door and kicked it open. It was unlocked, surprisingly enough, but that didn't matter. He took one look at Audrey on the ground and rushed over to her.
"Audrey?" He whispered getting on his knees to see her spitting up blood.

"Why…are…you…here?" Audrey said in between coughs and breaths but still managed to have an angry tone. Justin didn't know what to say. He wasn't going to tell her the real reason why he was here.

"That's not important." He snapped. "We need to get you out of here." He said attempting to pick her up.
"No!" Audrey told him. She would try to fight him but she was so weak and she noticed he was way to strong for her weak body.

Justin mumbled a series of cuss words under his breath before carrying Audrey out the house.
"Put me down!" she yelled, though it came out as a shaky normal tone.

"Would you shut up! I'm trying to help you!" He spat before laying her in the backseat of his car.

Audrey cursed herself for not being the strongest person. Hell! She cursed Justin for trying to save her! She didn't understand why she was angry about that but, it angered her for some twisted reason

After they arrived back at Justin's house he prayed that all his friends were either too high or drunk to function, or passed out. He looked back at Audrey to check on her. She gave him the death glare. Justin didn't understand why he was helping someone who didn't want to be helped but he felt like if he didn't get to be around Audrey he would always wonder about her. Justin got her out the back and carried her inside.

"Well, well, well, look at the lovebirds. Did you just get married or something?" A guy with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes laughed as they walked in. Also known as Liam to Justin.

"Not in the mood, shithead." Justin said through gritted teeth obviously very annoyed at the moment. Partly because of Audrey not cooperating--as she squirmed in his arms--and partly he just never really got along with Liam.

Justin went upstairs to his little section of the house and laid Audrey on the bed. He went and got a good look at her. Her jaw was lightly swollen and bruised. But what was making her cough up blood. "What hurts?" He asked sweetly.

Audrey just looked at him not saying a word. This time she was just aggravated not nervous.

Justin rolled his eyes. "The hard way it is." He mumbled to himself as he walked over to Audrey. He grabbed the ends of her shirt. She jumped and tried to curl herself into a ball for protection.

"Audrey I'm not going to hurt you." He mumbled quietly. She didn't believe him for one second but for some reason she sorta uncurled herself.

As a rough person that he is, he ripped her shirt right in half by tearing it. They both had horrified faces. Justin because of the huge bruise that went from her ribcage to Her stomach. Audrey because he just ripped her shirt off and she didn't know his intention.

"What are you doing?!" Audrey asked.

"Hopefully getting you some ice." Justin said before rushing out of the room. After seeing Justin's expression Audrey was afraid to look down at her stomach.

Justin came back with three icepacks. He placed two on her stomach and ribcage.  Audrey took it upon herself to put the other on her cheek.

"Why are you doing this?" She asked surprised by his gesture to help her.

Justin shrugged and that left them in silence but one thing was on his mind that he had to get off his chest.  "Audrey?"

"Hmm?"

"Is that why you get scared when I touch you?"

She contemplated whether to tell him what goes on in that sick house. After all, she only met him yesterday.
