5. Lost in London

“I don’t think we are walking in the right direction...” Emilie said, while we were walking in the streets of London.
“Me neither”, I said and took a look around. Where the hell were we?
“Are we lost?” Emilie said hopelessly and stopped. We had taken London Underground to the station nearest London Bridge, and looked at a map down there. It all seemed very simple. Some few streets, and we were there. But we weren’t.
“Yeees...” I said with a depressed face.

“Well..” Emilie started and looked at me with a creepy smile. “I have no sense of direction, and we are lost so..”.  Emilie began to turn around, while she pointed her finger out in the air. “Say: “Stop”.” she said. Oh nooo not again. Not that old thing. Whenever we were lost, she did this and wanted me to say: “Stop.” Then she would stop turning, and wanted us to walk in the same direction as the one her finger pointed. She had done, it since we were kids, but I thought, she was over it.
“Stop.” I said and she stopped and opened her eyes.
“Leggo!” she said and grabbed my hand, and we walked in direction.
"Yaay! Let see where destiny lead us!” I said joyful and we went out on another one of our big adventures.

~ 30 minutes later ~

“This isn’t London Bridge.” I said, as we were back at the same spot, we were 30 minutes. Well to make one thing clear: This “turn and stop”- thing she did.... actually never worked. But it had led us to some wonderful unknown places... and some trouble, when we couldn't’t find a way home..

I searched for some people to ask for directions. My eyes spotted a young couple down the road. Perfect. I let Emilie stand there alone, and walked in the couples direction.

“Excuse me?” I said and poked the girl carefully on her shoulder  “Yes?” she said and turned around, and then I started explaining our situation. She was very friendly, and made sure I understood which way we should go. It couldn't’t go wrong, if we went after London Bridge.

“Soo?” Emilie asked after I had returned.

"Well apparently we have walked in the complete wrong direction... And London Bridge is now really far away... But I have the directions to guide us there!" I made sure to make the last part exciting, but she just looked really disappointed after the first sentence.

"Argh God damit!" Emilie groaned.

"Soo what do we do now?" I asked her and she answered in a lazy tone:"I just wanna go home." Home. It sounded so weird, that the flat was our home now.

"Let's just drop it and go home."I said and accented "home". She smiled, as she also realized it was our home.

"Can we ask someone, how we get to the nearest Underground?" she asked and added:"But not the same couple... It would just be embarrassing...".

"Of course!" I said laughing, and then we went searching for some one new to ask. We walked and walked, but then I finally spotted someone.

"Uhh look at him." I said and carefully pointed at a guy in a yellow coat with curly blond hair. "He is our next victim."

Emilie looked at him and then looked at me with a sneaky smile and nodded.

"Excuse me sir?" Emilie said and the guy looked up. "Do you know where the nearest Underground is?" she asked friendly. He looked at with his eyes half closed and tried to keep the balance, but it looked like he was about to fall the entire time. “To the right down the street... and mmhh left and right.. hmm..” he mumbled. Clearly he was drunk and he smelled really bad, and he looked like he could use some rest.

“Well let’s just try.. Maybe he’s right.” Emilie said, so I took a step and began to walk down the street. I am not sure, where in London we were, but if you took a look around to could see a lot of brown old apartment buildings. The weather was really great. I was so shiny, just a perfect day to wear dresses. So we wore dresses. My dress was black and without straps, and Emilie’s dress was dip dyed with a white top and blue button, and she had a brown narrow belt around her waist. We walked and walked and finally the street ended, so we turned to right. It was quiet. The only sound was the sound of our footsteps.

“I hope that guy was right.” Emilie said and broke the silence while we walked. “When nothing goes right go left.” I said. But literally... We might had to go left, if there wasn’t a right.

We kept walking and the apartments slowly disappeared. I started to hear the sound of people and it was getting louder and louder. It sounded like screams. But not terrifying scream it was like girls screams.

“We can’t go left..” Emilie said and she was right. There was a lot of girls, who blocked the street so there was no way, we could make it through them.  It was here the screaming came from. All these teenage girls jumping and screaming and pointed and waved at a window. I searched for other possibilities and then, I saw this side street.

“Let’s try that way!” I said and pointed at the side street. We walked headed the side street, and it was nice to get a bit away from all that screaming. The side street wasn’t very wide, and there wasn’t even a single one of the teenage girls here.
There he was again. That curly guy. How strange to meet him twice.
