The One Who Wasn't Chosen

The propechy clearly states that the heir of Holden Din would save our world from The Jacks.

Katerina Enstire works for Cole Din, the heir of Holden Din. Katerina knows, he's supposed to save the world. But, he obviously won't. He's too selfish, too full of himself to acutally do anything. As Cole "stays oblivious" to the world that doesn't revolve around him, that world gets worse. People protest, and die within seconds. The Jacks are becoming more and more angry. But what can Katerina do? She isn't the Chosen One.

A/N: OK, so I don't know if I can keep this story up, so if I don't finish it, and if you like it, you can have it. ONLY IF I SAY IT IS OK! Thanks! Make sure you tell me what you think!

6. Chapter 6

Glass shattered. I heard the sound come from the parlor. I ran down the stairs to see what was up. Cole wasn't down there, but a broken window was. I stepped around the broken glass, trying not to step on it. I wasn't wearing shoes. The sun shone through the window, right onto my face, but that wasn't the only thing I saw. I saw thousands of angry people, charging at me. The first one came at me and slit my throat.

I shot up and gasped, holding my throat. It was just a dream. I was sweating and my heart was pounding. What if this was a sign? I went downstairs, well, I was, until I heard voices.

"Look, we need to decide if Cole is going to actually save these people."

"He won't, but that girl has to believe he will, that's why we drugged him." Drugged? Then I realized, when The Jacks came the first time, Cole was drinking tea, Cole hates tea. That's how they drugged him. How could I have been so stupid?!

I walked back slowly, but stepped on a slip of paper. It made a crunching sound that seemed louder than it should have. The talking stopped. I picked up the piece of paper and ran for my room. I slid into my bed and pretended to be asleep.

I heard my door squeak open. I suppressed the urge to cringe, though that was my first impulse. Who ever it was left, closing my door. I waited for the footsteps to get out of earshot before turning on a lamp. I looked at the piece of paper. It said 'Bates Street 10 o'clock Saturday'. I know where I'm going tomorrow.

I walked down the stairs slowly, looking for anything the person might have dropped. Seeing nothing, I ended up missing a step and falling. But, Cole caught me.

"Watch where you're going," Cole laughed. OK, now I know he's still drugged.

"I have to go meet some friends," I said.

"Mm'k. Have fun," Cole said, sitting down. I went back upstairs to my room. I changed into a grey t-shirt and black skinny jeans. It's an old phrase; skinny jeans, most people call them skin-tights now.

I went to go see Mason, knowing Chase, Flora, and Pandora have to work. I called Mason to let him know where to meet me.

When I got there, Mason was sitting, waiting for me.

"Hey Mason," I said.

"Kat," he said. "What's up?"

"Read this," I said, handing him the paper.

"Let me guess, you're going?"

"Yes, but there's more. I woke up last night and I was about to go to the parlor when I heard voices."

"Voices? Like, other people were in your house?" This idea was shocking to both of us, why would someone meet in my house, excuse me, Cloe's house?

"Yeah. They were talking about Cole. And how he was drugged."

"Oh my god. So, I was right? He's working for The Jacks?"

"He must be, it's the only explanation."

A/N: HEY! So, you absolutely pos-a-fruitly have to tell me what you think. Am I rushing it? Let me know! THX! ^-^
